Two weeks later I was missing Vincent something awful and hated even more that we hadn't slept in the same bed in weeks. I was moody and tired plus not seeing my husband for two weeks added to my angst.
I piddled around all day, the feeling of restlessness getting to me and what's worse, I didn't want to leave our room. I had no desire too.
A sudden knock brought me from my depression. "Come in" I said softly. It was Bri. God love her, I knew what she was trying to do, but I didn't know if I wanted it or not.
"Calli what's the matter honey?" She was concerned and I felt bad making her worry like this and there really was no use in lying to her.
"I just feel off " I told her. "Have you heard from Luca?" I asked and when she nodded yes, I couldn't stop the tears. "You mean you haven't heard from Vincent?" She seemed truly surprised as I shook my head no.
Wiping the tears away was my way of saying f*ck it and asked Bri about her doctor. "Female doctor?" She asked. I nodded and then she asked "Are you pregnant?" "I'm not sure. We've not been using any birth control but I thought I might be pregnant by now. I just want to make sure nothing's wrong with me."
And as usual, Bri came to my rescue by calling and getting me an appointment to her OB-GYN. Picking myself up from bed, I took a shower and got dressed and met Bri downstairs.
Meo was taking us and before I got in, I asked a favor of him. "Meo, please don't tell Vincent about this, okay? I need to tell him on my own." Meo nodded and said "Calli, I won't say anything, besides its not mine to tell." I smiled and nodded in thanks.
After getting poked and prodded, blood drawn and a complete physical, Dr. Sylvio said physically I was fine, a little anemic, but asked me if I was under any stress.
"Yes" I responded honestly. He suggested just clearing my mind and not focus so hard on having a baby and thus we'd get pregnant. In the meantime, he prescribed iron and progesterone, just to be safe.
I have to admit that I felt better, so Bri and I went shopping for Vincent's birthday. It was an awesome feeling not carrying the weight of the world, so with a happy heart, we shopped like crazy.
I was overjoyed when I found everything on my list for Vincent. An elegant skeleton watch, onyx and diamond cuff links, and a silk tie from Hermes.
