Vincent made his way into his father's study to find Alberto with a very grim expression on his face and this not only concerned Vincent but worried him as well.
"Come in son and shut the door" his father said. "Dad what's happened?" Vincenzo asked. Alberto all of a sudden looked his age when he pushed himself into his desk chair.
"I know who has been helping Dante in his scheme to embezzle from us and to be honest, I'm saddened to the core. Not just for our business, but for you Vincenzo because this is going to hit very close to home."
Vincent's core clinched as did his stomach at his father's words and although he hadn't heard a name yet, he had a foreboding of disaster.
"Antoine Mancini." That's all his father had to say, to send Vincent catapulting from his chair, clinching his fist and passing wildly across the study.
"How could that bastardo do this? To his own daughter? I know now why he was so agreeable to me taking his daughter, well I've got news for him, it won't stop me from doing what has to be done.
Damn it this is going to crush her. First James and now her father? How much betrayal can this poor woman endure?" He was just beside himself with the thoughts of what it was going to do to her and the fact that he would have to handle this as he would any other betrayal...with death.
Standing at the window, looking out at Calli, Bri and his mother, his heart broke because right now, at this very moment, they were discussing the details of their wedding.
How could he do this to her before their special day? Turning to his father, he said "Calli and I are to be married in one week's time, here at her request. We will do nothing until after the wedding, I will tell her then but not before. I cannot bear to break her heart like this."
Alberto heartily agreed and went on to tell Vincent that Dante's assistant, Maraiah, is the one that had come to him when she overheard a phone conversation after he'd thought she left for the day.
She came straight to Alberto, so he started paying her extra to keep tabs on everything plus guaranteed her safety and assured her a place in the company because of her loyalty.
"Okay son, I will defer to your judgement, but how do you want to handle the information that Calli was able to uncover? We still have to, for our name's sake, turn this information over to the shareholders."
Vincent knew what his father was saying was true, but he couldn't risk anyone finding out that Calli had uncovered the treachery because if he'd learned anything from this business, it's retribution comes swiftly on the devil's wings when people think their plans are being jeopardized.
He was not going to take that chance and told his father as much and much to his relief, Alberto agreed. They both new Antoine had amassed enemies and if they thought they could take out his daughter in the process, they would.
This is why her announcement as his future wife needed to be made sooner rather than later. Friday couldn't get here soon enough.
"We need to meet with the other heads as soon as possible and let them know what's coming. Despite the fact that Dante is a d*ck, he does have those that follow him like the Pied Piper. It's time for people to pick a side."
The thought of a war burned inside Vincent like a nauseating ember, but every fifty or so years, one would come around, there would be a cleansing and the rightful order would be re-established.
He wasn't concerned for himself as much as he was for his family, but he also knew that he had more support and loyal followers than Dante did.
"Dad, you make the calls while I fill in Luca, Antonio, Meo and Niccola. They deserve to know what's going on as well and I need them to start preparing.
It's not just here but Vegas that needs to be ready. I don't believe for a minute that Dante won't try and hit both places and once he and Mancini are outed, they will be in a hurry to end us, the both of us and we can't let that happen."
The elder Siranni nodded as he picked up the phone and started making calls while Vincent sent a text to Luca, telling him to get things ready for a meeting at their warehouse.
Once the calls had been made, Vincent and his father made their way from the study to the backdoor, stopping only long enough to tell their women goodbye.
Vincent was glad that he didn't outwardly show his emotions because he wasn't ready to share all of this information with Calli just yet, the look on her face when they'd had their first date was still fresh in his mind, the hurt she'd felt with the contracts, her voicing how she had felt betrayed.
A text from Luca dragged him from his thoughts long enough to pull Calli aside, kiss her roughly and tell he would see her later on tonight.
Vincent loved how her lips would look after taking her that way, plump and moist, slightly parted, so alluring they were they he could imagine them wrapped around him.
"Vincent, are you okay?" Calli asked. Smirking, he guided her hand to his crotch, where his growing bulge was only evident to the two of them.
"Does it feel like I'm okay, fiore?" His voice husky with need. She stepped closer, not letting go of him, but instead caressing him through the fabric of his dress pants.
"Hmm, Vincenzo" she breathed, knowing that drove him mad. "I am going to take care of this tonight. You think about the things you want me to do to your c*ck, you tell me when you get home and I will see it fulfilled."
"Calli, you are a volpe femmina (vixen)" Vincent whispered in her ear before his lips descended on her neck, kissing, licking and sucking her sensitive skin.
She giggled at his assessment of her, kissed him again and sent him on his way and although he almost postponed this meeting for a romp in bed, he had to focus right now on the issue at hand.
A stone cold expression replaced the smile that had graced his lips just seconds earlier as he approached Luca and the opened car door. "We've got a problem" was the only thing he said as Luca nodded, shutting the door.
