In California at a Classified Location:
"Why are you doing this?!" That insufferable girl Reyna calls out as Noah shoved a gag into her mouth."Gina!" Someone yells.
Gina looked over, and saw one of her men, Liam, walking towards her in the house's dim hallway.
"Liam," she said, inclining her head towards him. Liam nodded at her.
"Gina. I have a status report from the boss."
Gina halted her steps and ushered the prisoners and Noah forward. "Take them to the cellar," she murmured. "Noah, stay with me. The rest of you," she barked at the extra troops she had, which were holding Reyna and Hylla. "Take the prisoners away. Don't start questioning, or torturing, until I come down. Go, what are you waiting for?!"
She swiftly grabbed Noah's upper arm and dragged him along with her to the bedroom Hylla had been trapped in.
"I'm not a child, Gina, you don't need to herd me along!" Noah said as he yanked his arm from her grasp.
"Well, you're sure complaining like a child," she snapped.
Noah shot her a glare, and they sat down, waiting to hear the report. Liam cleared his throat.
"Boss needs to withdraw troops from your location. They're staying at headquarters until further notice, which means when you learn Camp Jupiter's and Camp Half-Blood's location(s). Boss thanks you for understanding. Please," he said and looked up at Gina hopefully. "Don't let the boss down. This may be your last chance."
Gina nodded curtly and Liam went on his way. They pair hadn't moved when the sound of an engine starting up echoed through the room.
"Liam's right. We have to get the locations out of them. And soon." Noah said and stood up, offering Gina his hand. She took it gratefully, and put a grim smile on her face.
"I wonder who the boss is taking."
Noah peered outside the bedroom door. He paled. "All of them."
"What?!" Gina said, and opened the door. Sure enough, all seventeen of their soldiers were heading out the door.
"It's just us then," she said, and swallowed, in doubt.
Noah's jaw clenched. "Yeah. We better go start our interrogations."
Without another word, the both walked downstairs to the cellar door, which was barred from the outside. Noah lifted the lock with a grunt, and Gina slipped inside.
Hylla and Reyna were still gagged and tied up, sitting side by side on a musty couch.
"Hello, my lovelies!" Gina crooned.
Reyna glared at her and gave a muffled speech. Gina sighed and held out her hand.
"Spit it out, praetor. Show me what you're made of. By spitting out the gag." Reyna glared some more, and with much difficulty, spit out the gay into Gina's hand. "Girl power!" Gina said enthusiastically.
Hylla leaned forward and coughed hers out. Noah materialized next to Gina.
"Ugh," Hylla said as she spat on the dusty floor. "What do you guys soak those in? Vinegar and sweat?"
Gina raised an eyebrow. "No, unicorn pee. Can't you tell?"
Reyna flared her nostrils. "Enough. Start the questions."
Noah crossed his arms. Gina knew she always did most of the talking. In the eleven years they'd been friends, Noah always only used his voice when he felt it was essential.
