Heroes of Hogwarts: Being Brave is Believing in Yourself

Chapter 11

At Hogwarts:
Jason never expected DADA to be this. Where even was the teacher? Percy and Jason had just started sword fighting because they were bored. Leo was trying to tell them about a dream, but they were too involved in their duel.

"Dude! I'm serious. I had a dream about Artemis! She told me more about....our mission." Leo said, grabbing Jason's arm.

"Leo calm down. Tell everyone at dinner-whoops! Wow Jason you've gotten more skilled since Kansas!" Percy said as he parried.

Jason grinned. "Topeka 32, am I right?"

Percy laughed.

Leo facepalmed. Then the music started. Piper screamed some more at the class.

Leo stopped tugging Percy's arm and ran to Piper. Jason thought uh-oh as Piper started walking over to Percy and Jason.

"Dude, charmspeak on the way." Jason said.

Percy grimaced. Jason took the opportunity and knocked Percy's sword out of his hand.

"Aw." Percy said. He changed Riptide back to a pen, which morphed into a wand. Jason's sword did too. Hazel had enchanted the Mist so their weapons would be wands. The only downside was nobody could cast spells.

Piper reached them. "Leo told me he had a dream."

"WHAT?!" Percy yelled over the music.

"LEO TOLD ME HE HAD A DREAM!" Piper yelled.

Then she stopped, probably realizing it was hopeless to have a real conversation with loud music on, and ran to Annabeth. Ginny continued screaming at Ron, which was not helping to lower the noise level. Then Harry entered the room.

He froze in his tracks and took in the scene.

Piper walked up to a wizard who looked like he was controlling music and told him something. Instantly, the music stopped.

Piper stood on a chair. "Students! STUDENTS! Listen to me. Be quiet."

Everyone silenced their voices. Her charmspeak can be intimidating, Jason thought.

"Now, where's the teacher?" Piper asked.

Harry raised his hand. "Um, I passed the real DADA classroom on the way here. The teacher's looking for her students."

Piper stared at him. "You mean-"

"Pipes, we're in the wrong classroom." Jason called out.

Ron started laughing and nearly dropped Hermione from her levitation. Soon enough, everyone was laughing. They started going to the right classroom with a teacher.

Jason helped Piper down. "Oh gods we're all stupid."

"Maybe everyone had dyslexia." Percy suggested from behind them, his arm around Annabeth.

"Well, I wasn't there first so don't blame it on me. But did anyone see Luna? I just saw Harry." Annabeth said.

Jason kissed Piper's cheek. "I think I saw her leave the classroom before us."

Piper looked at him as they reached the real classroom. "Really? Next we have a free period right? So me and Annabeth will get her and go with everyone. Can we see Hagrid? I heard a lot about him from Hermione."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "Now you and Annabeth are friends with Hermione? What happened to the hate and all that schist?"

Annabeth laughed. "We're okay now. We're kind of...friends?"

Piper nodded.

The class passed by in a blur. It was only five minutes long.

After, Jason walked with Piper to find Luna. They found her with Neville looking at the sky and making jokes about the clouds.

"Hey Luna. I'm happy to see you're okay. Wanna come with us to Hagrid's?" Piper asked.

"Who's going exactly?" Luna asked.

"Um, me, Jason, Annabeth, Percy, Harry, Nico, Draco, Leo, Millie, Haley, Hermione, Hazel, Ginny, Frank, and Ron. Basically everyone." Piper laughed.

"Well, Hagrid's cottage is going to be quite cramped. Come on, Neville. We'll join." Luna said. The group started heading out of the castle.

Jason saw everyone walking in front of them. He saw Nico laughing with Draco. He was happy they were friends. Nico needed some new ones. Harry was with Ginny and Percy. Ron was with Hermione and Leo, who looked uncomfortable. But, as Jason watched, he slowly started making them laugh. Millie and Haley were with Annabeth. Jason wasn't sure how he felt about them. They seemed kind and brave enough. Hazel and Frank still weren't talking, and Hazel was taking refuge with Luna and Piper. Neville was with Jason.

"So," Neville asked. "Your with Harry? Who's in your group? What's America like? Is it fun? Do you know a lot of spells?"

Jason smiled. Neville reminded him so much of Frank. "Yes, Percy, great, yes, no."

Neville looked shocked. "You don't know many spells? Anyway, what does your company do?"

"Um...we produce some magical products. Like, uh, invisibility caps and wands that can be disguised as pens or whatever." Jason winced. He just used Annabeth's invisibility cap and Percy's sword as inspiration.

"That's sounds cool. I only ever heard of invisibility cloaks, but we're kind of old-school here, so...." Neville just shrugged.

"Well, land of the free and all that! Cloaks, caps, pens...." Jason cursed himself. Why wasn't someone like Percy's friend Grover or Thalia chosen for this quest? Why the demigods who just went on a quest? And now they were across the Atlantic again. And that was the last thing Jason wanted to do.

"Hey, Pipes!" Jason ran forward and tapped Piper's shoulder. She stopped walking and Neville passed them.

"Yeah?" She asked, her eyes sparkling.

"When are we going to-"

Jason was cut off by Piper kissing him.

"What was that for?" He asked after.

"You look so cute when your worried. I just had to." Piper said, blushing.

Jason grabbed her hand and they started walking again.

"I was asking before I was most RUDELY interrupted that when we were going to hear about Leo's dream about Artemis? And, doesn't it feel weird to be back over the Atlantic. And why us? We just went on a quest! Why not people like Clarisse, Will, Grover, or Travis?"

Piper looked off past Hagrid's. They reached the door and stopped outside. "Jason, because the gods just love torturing us. Speaking of gods, did you notice Hades as the potions teacher?"

Jason nodded. "It was weird. And unusual. But he didn't really act like he knew us, except I think Draco realized Nico and Hades were related."

"Well, ready to go in?" Piper asked.

"Sure." Jason said. "Nothing else to do."

When they went inside, everyone was acting like they'd known each other forever. They were all laughing and smiling. Hagrid looked surprised like he didn't know he was popular enough to have 17 teenagers in his hut. It was quite crowded. But there seemed to be a happy tone to it.

Jason could tell the group was going to become great friends.
