As the bell rings, Chandler is gone within seconds.
I quickly scoop my equipment up and rush out of the classroom. I whip my head left and then right, I see Chandler down the hallway.
"Chandler!" I yell, he carries on walking. I begin to speed walk after him "Chandler!" I yell again and he still ignores me. He then disappears amongst the crowd of students.
What the fuck was all that about?!
"Hey Maddie!" Lydia appears in front of me, blocking my view.
"Oh, hey Lyds" I say with a small smile, but my eyes are somewhere else. Wondering where Chandler went.
"Isn't it great?!" She says, with a huge beaming smile.
"What?" I ask clueless, still confused about Chandler.
"You kidding right? You know, I mean it's great I'm partners with Harley. Meaning...I finally get to talk to him"
"Oh yeah, good for you. Kind of a bummer that we didn't get paired together though" I then purse my lips.
"Yeah, bummer. You're with...Chandler is it? The new boy?" She asks.
"Yeah, that's him. I tried going after him after English but he kind of disappeared into the crowd" I form my lips into a slant.
"Oh really? Maybe he's just shy" she suggest.
"Maybe" I agree.

School has finished now and I'm almost home.
I turn the corner and a short distance away on the opposite side of the road, I see a figure. Black jeans, grey hoodie, hood up.
Chandler?
I jog over and tug his shoulder so he is forced to face me.
His eyes widen as he gasps. "Madison?! Wh-ha-have you been following me?!" He stutters.
I am now looking into a pair of piercing, blue eyes.
I've never noticed his eyes before. This is the first time I've gotten a proper look at his face. His hood has been covering it since I met him. His eyes are...beautiful.
"No, of course not. I live down here" I say pointing down the street to my house. His eyes settle back to normal.
"Oh, sorry. Um...yeah so do I" he says shyly.
"That's great. We'll be able to spend more time on our project. Do you wanna walk to mine now and we can start it? I ask.
"Oh...uh- yeah sure, I guess" He says quietly, looking down to the floor.
We begin walking to my house.
Now, I can get some answers.

I hope you're enjoying it so far. I'm sorry it's a little slow at the minute. You'll get to know more about Chandler in the next chapter. Btw, I'm going to need a little help from you guys. I'd like you to think of two different surnames for Madison and Lydia. They can't be the same. Madison...? Lydia...? What do you think? Leave your suggestions for surnames for these characters in the comments. I may ask the same again in the future for other characters.
P.s. When I say something like 'I purse my lips' in this book. I mean the version when you contract your lips into folds, so you can barely see their lips. When a character in my book does this it will be for a second and it will most likely be to show displeasure or sympathy etc. You can decide that depending on the context/scene at the time.
