*The Next Day

Madison's POV
I'm not gonna lie, I am nervous about seeing Chandler today. I'm nervous about giving him a second chance. What if I hurt him? What if he hurts me? I'm scared but this will just take time...it'll take time to actually hold a decent, civilised conversation with him but I'll try my best and I hope he does to.

*Lunch
I head to my usual spot for lunch as Lydia wanted to be alone with Harley.

I get closer, I can hear someone quietly sobbing to themselves. I'm gonna take a deep breath and go.

I slowly emerge from behind the corner and see someone in black jeans and a black hoodie with their hood up covering their face.

"Uh...are you okay?" I ask cautiously. "Leave me alone" he says bluntly. Head still low.

I recognise that voice.

"Ch-Chandler?" I ask nervously.

"Madison...go. I don't want to hurt you" he warns. Not taking his eyes off the ground, he recognised my voice.

"I can't do that Chandler" I say softly as I take a seat near him.

"Look at me" I say bringing my hand up to his face. He winces and turns away. "No" he says sternly .

"Chandler..." I say before yanking his hood down. I see his jaw clench, he's obviously trying to hold in his anger.

"Madison...I told you to go" he says through his teeth, still turned away from me. I now notice a fairly large cut across his cheek.

"W-what happened?" I ask quietly and cautiously. He hesitantly turns his face towards me. Now revealing a black eye, cut and bloody lips and the deep cut across his cheek. My eyes widen in shock.

"Oh my god, Chandler" I say still shocked.

He looks down. "You're not the only one that has been suffering"

I look down in guilt. "I'm so sorry...Chandler, I've been so selfish. I've been so blinded by my own issues that I completely forgot about what goes on at your home" a tear falls down my cheek.

"It's fine" he says bluntly.

"You say that but no, no it isn't fine Chandler...what happened? Was it your dad again? Or your mum" I blurt out.

"Both" he says quietly. He takes a deep breath

*Flashback
Chandler's POV

"William, you always coming home drunk out of your fucking head and I've had enough of it. You've probably been off with a bunch of slags, haven't you? Why do you always treat me like fucking shit!" I hear my mum yell. I come down stairs walking into the living room where they are both stood there yelling at each other. I can tell they both obviously, very drunk.

"You having no fucking right to speak to me like that you bitch!" My dad yells.

"Stop it! Both of you, please!" I nervously yell. I see my dad storming towards me, I instantly feel a shooting pain right on my eye. He punched me and I fall to the floor.

He jumps on top of me and pins me down. I am fearing for my life. My dad has no control when he's drunk. "You're a worthless piece of shit, this is all your fault" he yells in my face. I see a glimmering, sharp object being pulled out of his pocket. A knife. He slowly slices my cheek into a deep cut and gets off me. A smirk is plastered across his face as he walks away.

I eventually stumble to my feet and before I know it, my head is being tilted upwards, and I am slammed against the wall. "Ha, useless shit. You haven't been yourself! You should pay more attention to us" my mum laughs and walks away. Leaving me bleeding on the floor.

*End of flashback

"Oh Chandler. No-one should have to go through something like that" I say sympathetically and go to embrace him into a hug. He is hesitant at first but then he gives in.

"I'm sorry" I whisper as I feel tears fall onto my shoulder.
