Lydia's POV
"Are you ready, Maddie?" I say as we approach our English classroom.
"I...uhh, I think so" she says, nervously.
"Sure?" I ask. I want to make sure she is okay with this as I know it's been a hard day for her.
There is a pause until she finally but slowly nods.
I knock the door and we're told to come in and the whole class stares at us. Maddie stays behind me.
I barely walk into the classroom before I ask Mrs Chambers if we could talk to her outside.
"Sorry, we're late Miss" I begin saying.
"Don't be silly girls!" She quickly responds. "I got the notification from the nurse. I heard about what happened. Are you okay now, Madison?" She nods.
"Just one thing Miss. Could you please lay off Maddie with answering questions and that in class for a week or two, because of her anxiety she's very vulnerable and she could have another panic" I explain.
"Yeah...yeah of course! It's okay, I completely understand girls. Madison, I hope you feel better soon"
"Thank you" Maddie says quietly.
We walk in class and quickly take seats next to each other so I can keep an eye on Maddie.
Once everyone gets on with their work I see Chandler walking towards us. I get up and stop him before he could talk to Maddie. His eyes widen, I see a confused look on your face.
"Just don't, Chandler. I'll talk to you after class. Please, just go back to your seat" I instruct him.
His head falls low but without questioning, he does what I say and heads back to his seat.
Every now and then, I glance over to Maddie to make sure she is okay. Throughout the lesson she keeps her head down and gets on with the work. We have minimal interaction.
*Skip to the end of class
The bell rings and we begin to pack up. As we are doing so, I tell Maddie that I'm going to speak to Chandler straight after this class and to meet me in our usual spot on the 3rd floor.
As we get out of class, I meet Chandler.
We stay silent for a few seconds and he just shrugs his shoulders "So, what was that earlier then? Why did you want to speak to me?
