Chandlers POV

I haven't stopped thinking about what happened on Friday all weekend.

Why did she run away?

Did I get the wrong impression?

Maybe she doesn't like me.

I sit in my usual seat for English. I see Madison walk in with her long, flowing, blonde hair that is covering her face slightly on one side and the other side, a small plait keeping that side out of her face.

She sits down in her usual seat next to me.

"Maddie?" I call to her, she ignores me. "Maddie, you can't ignore me forever" I state, she carries on scribbling down what Mrs Chambers is writing on the board.

I sigh and decide to leave her alone for the rest of the lesson.
____________
As the bell rings, she quickly darts out of the room and I am unable to catch up with her.

It's lunch now. I know exactly where she's gone.
__________
Madison's POV

I head up to my usual spot on the third floor. Although it's lunch, I get my text books out and begin a project that is due this week for History.

I begin to softly sing The Parting Glass to myself quietly, as I work better with music and this song tends to calm me down.

Of all the money that e'er I spent
I spent it in good company
And all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas, it was to none but me
For all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all.

Chandler's POV

As reach the third floor, I hear a faint sound of someone singing.

As I follow the voice, I am met by a wall and on the other side of the wall is the corner of benches where Madison usually sits.

I remember she told me that she likes to sing but she's not very good. I knew she was lying.

I hide behind the corner of the wall, quietly listening to her soft, beautiful voice until she finishes.
____
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call
Good night and joy be with you all

As she finishes, I emerge from behind the wall. "You have a beautiful voice" I say softly.

She bolts upright, eyes wide and looking very startled.

"Fuck, Chandler you scared me! H-how long have you been standing there?" She panics.

"Long enough..."

"Y-you didn't hear sing did you...?" She's asks worryingly.

"Of course I did. Madison, you have a beautiful voice and you shouldn't hide it" I say with a soft smile.

I move her text books out the way and take a seat next to her.

There is a moment of silence...

"You can't avoid it forever, Madison...we need to talk about what happened"

"Th-there's nothing to tell" she hesitates.

"Y-yes there is...I need answers"

She sighs and looks down in embarrassment or regret.
