We approach my house and I let us in.
"Mum!" I yell, my voice echoing throughout the house. I see Chandler flinch beside me, I can tell he feels nervous.
"Alright Madison. I'm right here" she says, emerging from the kitchen. "Oh...who's this?" She says as her eyes drift onto Chandler, who is nervously stood to the right of me.
"This is Chandler" I say gesturing to him. "He's a friend of mine"
"Oh right...it's lovely to meet you Chandler" she says and embraces him into a hug. She's always been a hugger.
Chandler is hesitant at first but then warms to the hug.
"The thing is...Chandler has had some serious problems at home and...I've told him we have a spare room. Could he stay here please?" I ask her.
"Of course you can stay here, Chandler" she says, I'm glad she is being so welcoming. "I hope you don't mind but...may I ask what happened?" She asks as politely as she could.
We both sigh at the same time and I explain everything to her.
"Oh Chandler, darling. You've been through so much. Trust me...I am nothing like that" she says sympathetically and gives him another hug.
"Thank you Mrs Blake" he says quietly and gives her a small smile.
"Chandler...since you're going to be staying here, please just call me Erica" she lets out a small chuckle.
"Oh...right okay" he agrees.
"Well...Madison, why don't you head upstairs and show Chandler the guest bedroom" she suggests and gestures to the stairs.
"Yeah sure, come on" I say, gesturing for Chandler to follow me.
"Okay, this is your room and the bathroom is over there" I say pointing.
His eyes follow as I point to the two different rooms and then turns back around to face me.
"Maddie..." he pauses, looking nervous. "Thank you so much for this"
"Honestly, it's no problem" my lips form into a slight smile.
He slowly leans in and places a soft kiss on my cheek. There's a minute of silence.
"Um...what are you gonna do about your stuff...back at home" I say, changing the subject.
"Oh right...yeah. I can always go home when I know my parents are at work" he suggests.
"Yeah...that's a good idea" I reply.
"Tea's ready!" My mum yells and we head downstairs.
