I stand up and begin pacing the floor of Chandler's bedroom. "I don't care what you say Chandler. I am not leaving you alone with them"
He jumps up. "No, Maddie. They won't like it, they'll shout...they'll hurt you" he trails off.
I turn to face him. "Chandler. I don't care" I suddenly hear a car door shut from in front of the house and I quickly turn around and walk towards Chandler's door.
I am quickly interrupted by someone grabbing my wrist and whipping me around to face them.
"Madison...please" he begs, I notice the worry in his eyes.
I shake my head. "No. Chandler, I need to do this" he loosens his grip and I make my way down the stairs.
As I cautiously walk to the set of wooden stairs, I am faced with a tall man with short grey hair. I see his eyes drift up the stairs and land on me.
"Who the fuck are you and why are you in my house?" He yells. "Dad...please" I hear a voice from behind you.
"My name is Madison. I am a friend of your son. I know what you and your wife do to him and he does not deserve it" I am now slowly making my way down the stairs with Chandler close behind.
"Who said it's any of your fucking business?" He spits. "You...you even need a whiny girl to fight your corners. You're fucking coward" he says pointing at Chandler.
I push his pointed finger out the way. "Don't you dare speak to him like that...and don't speak to me like that you fucking bastard" I yell.
"You bitch..." and before I know it, a pain strikes my right cheek and I fall to the floor.
My eyes strain open when Chandler is flung on the floor next to me. Next thing I know, we are both being yanked up by our hair.
He grabs the front door handle and pulls hit open, pushing us with forces so we both land on the concrete in a heap.
"No-one fucking speaks to me like that. Never come back...I'd rather see the both of you suffering on the streets" he hisses and slams the door.
Chandler looks at me in pure shock. "I'm so...sorry" he whispers.
"It's not your fault" I say trying to reassure him and embrace him into a tight hug.
"Listen...we've got a spare room back at my house. You're more than welcome to stay at ours" I tell him.
He shakes his head. "No...I can't do that"
I slowly place my hand on his and his eyes falls upon them. "Please Chandler...my parents won't mind"
His eyes slowly look up and meet with mine. Hesitantly, he gives a slow nod.
A small smile forms on my face. "Besides...my mum always wanted a son"
We both let out a small chuckle as we both raise to our feet.
