*The Next Day
Madison's POV
Although Chandler explained to me what happened, I can't help but feel he's not telling me something. Like he's purposely left something out.
I've just text Chandler and we're meeting up again at lunch.

*Lunch
"Hey Chandler"
"Hey Maddie"
"How are you? There...um...there hasn't been any more trouble at home has there?" I ask nervously.
"No" he says bluntly. "Not today"
There's a moment of silence before I break it. "Chandler...did you tell me everything about that night at home? It's just...it feels like you're not telling me something."
He looks down and sighs. I can tell he's hiding something. "What did your mum mean by you've not been yourself?" I ask.
"Well...um...when you weren't talking to me...because you didn't tell me why, when I was at home...everyday all these thoughts were running through my head. I-I thought I hurt you, I didn't know what to do, I was going crazy. I-I was driving myself insane not knowing what I did to you. I kept to myself in my room and my mum had a go at me. I wasn't myself, I was ignoring my parents, I wasn't paying enough attention to them and they didn't like that. They called worthless, useless, a cry baby. You didn't realise I was being abused because you were avoiding me...I was kind of glad you didn't find out."
"It's...it's all my fault" I whisper to myself, tears beginning to form. "That's why I didn't want to tell you, I knew you'd blame yourself" he says.
"It's my fault. I was the one who made it get the better of me. I should of just tried to act normal around my parents...so....so they wouldn't...hit me but...but... it hurt too much not too show" he explained.
"Chandler, I should have told you in the first place...none of this would have happened"
He connect his eyes with mine "Stop blaming yourself, Madison. They've abused me way before you came along. The last couple of weeks was just bad timing"
I embrace him into a hug and as we pull away, I plant a soft kiss on his cheek. I see his ocean, blue eyes connect with mine and he flashes a small smile.
