Beep! Beep! Beep! It's now 5:45.
I woke up ten minutes before my desired wake up time. I was just so excited. Today is the first day of my senior year in high school!! Academia is the foundation of life, or at least, I strongly believed it to be so. Soon I will be going to college!
*Finally, I will be surrounded by people who actually enjoy learning, unlike my classmates of Peach Creek High*
I let out a sigh and got out of bed as I started remembering the past three years. Honestly it went by so fast. Although I wouldn't say that I will always cherish them. Those years consisted of Eddy's infamous scams, bullying, and hand-me-down textbooks. I'm glad it will be over soon. I grabbed my toiletries and headed to the bathroom, where I proceeded with my hour shower routine. Then I got dressed and went downstairs in the kitchen. I started boiling some water in my tea kettle for green tea while I was preparing for breakfast and lunch. I had just finished packing away my lunch when I heard a knock on the door. I scurried to the door, smiling because I knew who was behind it.
"Salutations friends! Isn't it a wonderful morning?" I said when I opened the door.
"Hiya Double D! Hey, how can it be morning if it's still dark?" Ed said with a puzzled look.
"Well, you see Ed--"
"Can it you guys! It's too early for this shit!" Eddy complained.
"Language! Eddy, I will not have you Sully my first day at school with your use of profanity." I stated. I moved aside to allow my best friends in.
"Please remove your shoes."
"Yeah, Yeah" Eddy responded as he and Ed did what they were told.
I followed them in the kitchen where my bowl of oatmeal topped with blueberries and my green tea were sitting on the table.
"Eddy is mad cause of Kevin, Double D." Ed said.
"Can it lumpy! Shovel-chin can kiss my ass! I don't even want to think about fire crotch. Anyways, sockhead, I got the perfect scam for this year. It will be the ultimate senior prank!" A devilish grin appeared on Eddy's face.
He started to unfold his plan to me, but I must admit, I wasn't paying attention. As soon as Ed mentioned Kevin's name, my mind wandered. Kevin Barr lived directly across from me in the cul-de-sac. However we were far from being friends. He was, and still is in a way, my childhood bully. What surprised me was knowing his mom and my mom were best friends in high school. Despite that connection, Kevin would bully me, Ed and Eddy. Granted, the bullying did come as result of Eddy's scams gone wrong.
However, over the years it has gotten much better. In fact, this past summer, we hung out more than we did in our entire lives. I started to reminisce the time when he accidentally pushed me down trying to chase Eddy because of a bad prank he pulled. Normally he wouldn't think twice about knocking me over. But on that day, he quickly apologize and grabbed my hand to help me up. His face was red as he did so. Maybe it was because of the sun? I felt my own face get hot as my hand started to tingle like it did that day.
*Why am I blushing? It was only a kind gesture*
I blamed my blush on the hot green tea. I looked down to begin eating, except my bowl and my cup was empty.
*Oh dear, it seems that I have been eating while daydreaming again*
This has been happening a lot, especially this summer and usually when I think about... Kevin.
"Double D are you okay?" Ed asked concerned.
"I'm fine Ed."
"Did you even listen sockhead?" Eddy asked.
"My apologies Eddy, but no I wasn't. It will have to wait until lunch." I stated, looking at my watch. I washed my dishes and walked towards the door.
"Let's get going, shall we gentlemen?"
Eddy rolled his eyes in annoyance, probably because I didn't pay attention to his "ultimate" scam. They always fail one way or another so normally I don't give them much thought. My mind was preoccupied with a certain red-headed jock. I groaned.
"Today is going to be very interesting"
