(Kevin)

"Bruh, you need to relax." Nat said, stuffing his face with his lunch.

"There is no sense in having your head down on the table."

"Yeah Kev, you've been moody all day." Nazz commented.

I ignored them and continued to have my head down.

*Why the hell didn't he show up today??*

"I think Kevin misses Double D." Ed said.

"Jesus Christ...stop twisting your panties in a knot shovel-chin. Sockhead is gonna be fine." Eddy stated. I shot my head up and glared at the idiot.

"And how in the hell would you know pipsqueak?!?!" I growled.

"Didn't Double Cutie tell you to trust him Kevin? " Nat asked.

"I do trust him! It's Richard I don't trust!"

"He's safer at home than he is at school shovel-chin." Eddy shrugged his shoulders.

I opened my mouth and quickly shut it, realizing that the asshole was right. I would NEVER tell him that though. I let out a loud groan. Suddenly my phone vibrated in my pocket. It was a text message from Edd.

[12:15pm] Edd: My apologies for not attending school today Kevin. I know you were worrying about me but fret not, I am okay. Something urgent has come up and I need to take care of it. I'll tell you about it later...I love you pumpkin.

"Something Urgent?" Nat asked, looking over my shoulder.

"So you got a message too shovel-chin?" Eddy asking with his phone in his hand.

"He said he was gonna tell me and lumpy later about it." He added. I stood up from the table.

"Fuck this, I'm leaving right now. Something doesn't feel right. I gotta know what happened." I stated.

"Dude, Double D wouldn't want that." Nazz said shaking her head.

"She's right. Besides you have an extra long practice after school today. The big game is the day after prom. Coach will be furious if the football captain don't show up."

"....Shit." I grumbled and slowly sat back down.

"Hhheeeyyy Keeeevvvviinnnn!"

I instinctively winced at the unnervingly high pitch tone coming from behind me. I hesitantly turned around to see who in the hell said my name like that. I forced myself not to frown, even though it was damn near impossible.

"Sup Brittany. Sup Sasha."

The two girls stood there with big goofy smiles on their faces. I didn't know what they wanted, but I wish they would hurry the hell up and say what they needed to say. I wasn't in the mood for bullshit.

"Do you mind if we sit here Kevin?" Brittany asked.

"Depends...what do you want?" I asked, straight to the point.

"Well...we were wondering if you had a date for prom yet?" Sasha questioned with hope in her eyes. This time I allowed the frown appear.

"No." I stated and turned my back towards them.

"No?!? You don't have one??" They said in unison. I could hear the excitement in their voices . It was a syrupy sweet type of excitement. It made me sick to my stomach.

"No, you can't sit here." I retorted, shattering that excitement.

"Now move along."

"Kevin!!" Brittany screamed in that annoying high pitch.
