(Edd)
I looked at Kevin as he pulled out the driveway.
*I hope I haven't angered him*
"So what's up Sockhead? What's with the new get up?" Eddy asked.
"I was just trying to do something new Eddy." I stated.
"You look good Double D! Like hot gravy on cold day." Ed exclaimed.
"Why thank you Ed...I think."
"For a guy who doesn't like change, this is a weird thing to see." Eddy said.
"Well maybe I've changed Eddy."
Eddy pondered about what I just said. Then he chuckled and put one hand on my shoulder.
"Nah, you're still the same ole Sockhead."
I gave a weak smile.
*This is going to take longer than I anticipated*
We started walking to school. When we got there, it was like a completely different atmosphere! Everyone stared at us when we entered the building. Actually, I should probably say everyone was staring at me.
Two girls, whose names I can't remember for the life of me, came up to us.
"Good morning Double D." They said in unison.
"Good morning ladies. Isn't it a fantastic Monday morning?" I smiled. They giggled. I felt my face turn a slight shade of pink.
"Heeey Sasha. Heeey Brittany." Eddy said, his attempt at being suave. They rolled their eyes and walked away.
"...well fuck you too then." Eddy muttered. Ed started laughing, as did I.
It wasn't just the girls though. Everyone was looking at me. Even the teachers did a double take at me.
*Can a simple change of style really produce this sort of reaction?*
I was not used to this much attention. It made me self-conscious.
"What did I tell ya Sockhead? Total babe magnet!" Eddy said. The look in his eyes told me he was up to no good.
"Eddy, what are you--"
"Well well well, look who it is. You look different dork."
My heart dropped. I turned my head to see Tyler Walker, a running back for our school's football team. He was huge and an ego to match. His brown eyes bore into mines.
"S-salutations Tyler. How may I assist--"
"What the hell do you want Walker?" Eddy interrupted. Ed hands were balled into fists. I hardly ever see him angry.
"Aww, look how the idiot and the midget tries to protect their dork." Tyler smirked, flipping his dark brown hair.
"Relax. I don't have time to play right now. I just want my homework. You got it dork?"
"Y-yes I do." I quickly opened my satchel and grabbed his homework. He snatched it away from my hand.
"Thanks dork. Until next time." Tyler walked away. Suddenly he stopped and turned around.
"The next time you guys wanna act tough and stick up for the dork, I will beat the shit out of all three of you." He left.
"Why do you continue to do that asshole's homework? " Eddy asked.
"One must do things they don't like in order to survive Eddy." I wearily replied.
From time to time members of the sports department give me their homework to complete. Although it means longer nights and tiresome mornings, I would gladly accept that versus having some sort of altercation. Plus it doesn't look suspicious when Kevin talks to me during school hours. People just assume he is asking for homework as well. Although Kevin doesn't know about this. I sighed.
