My eyes caught on someone running, so I advanced towards them. The faster I ran the farther they got, wasn't quick enough.

"Come back, please" I whispered, watching their figure disappear.

I sat down near a moss covered log, it looked so pretty and untouched. It seemed like something that would be fun to paint. Interesting to try out new shading techniques. I was interrupted from my thoughts when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see my mother.

"M-Mom?" I asked confused.

"Yes sweetie, it's me." she said gently, running a hand through my hair.

I hugged her tightly not wanting to ever let her go, she was my everything. She had taught me things, and helped me grow as much as she could with the short amount of time we had each other.

"I've missed you so much, you have no idea." I cried in her shoulder, I shook as I struggled to control my crying.

Her embrace deepened as she kissed the top of my head, "I know, I'm always with you."

"I'm scared. Did I die, am I going to die? I've made horrible mistakes, horrible decisions I'm so sorry" I said not wanting to look her in the eye.

She swayed giving me a gentle smile, "No you're alive, I needed to speak with you. You are safe I have someone watching over you. You have no reason to be sorry."

She looked as beautiful as ever, her hair cascading past her shoulders. However I as confused, "Who? Whose looking over me besides dad?" I asked.

"Clayton." she said simply.

Who is that? I don't know him do I, I didn't want to waste thinking about someone I didn't remember. I didn't want to waste time in general so I dropped the subject, "My paintings are almost as good as yours." I said.

She smiled tilting her head down at me, "They are much better than mine. You have exceeded my expectations that I've set for you. Oh Natalie I'm so proud of you. I'm sorry things turned out the way they did. I'm sorry I left you, but I miss you everyday."

I remembered all the times we would spend with each other painting. I remember spending some moments with her, it just wasn't enough. She was taken to early for me. I just want more time, "Mom I want to stay here with you." I said holding on to her.

"No, you have to stay on earth, secrets have to be spilled. Promise me you'll always remember that you're stronger than you seem." she asked, kissing my forehead.

I watched as her figure disintegrated into nothing. She left before I had the proper chance to say goodbye before I got to tell her anything about myself. Then I remembered what she said, she was always watching. That made me feel safer than before.

"I promise."

I couldn't really see anything in particular. The images were blurred. I wasn't walking but I was getting carried. The ground went by fast. I felt weak and useless as I was unable to move any of my limbs.

I glanced up and saw Zero. Everything that happened resurfaced to my memory. He placed his hands on me. I took in a sharp quick breath of air. He heard me, his head snapped towards mine. He stopped walking.

He didn't say anything, neither did I. What was I gonna say. Oh thanks for not harming me. I didn't want his hands on me.

"Let me down." I demanded my voice cracking.
