I sat next to Daryl and across from T-Dog in my little corner. Glenn and Rick were in front. Rick had been in the camp less than forty eight hours and he was already almost running the place. I personally have no problem with it, I don't think Shane is a fit leader at all. Glenn sat in the passenger seat giving off directions, every time there was so much as a bump my leg would brush against Daryls, that's how close together we were. I sat down first, this is his fault. T-Dog gave us an odd look every time it happened, maybe because I blushed almost every single time.
"He better be okay, that's all I have to say on the matter."
"I told you, I locked that door, no walkers are getting in there." The two men argued, I rolled my eyes but stayed quiet.
"What's up with you two?" He finally said making me shift uncomfortably next to Daryl.
"What ya talkin bout?" Daryl said not even looking at T-Dog but out the back window.
"You two got a thing going on or something?"
"Fuck no. She ain't my type." He spat, I cringed at his harshness, even though I don't want to admit it to anyone or myself, but that hurt my feelings. Am I that revolting to even think about? Glenn must have heard the conversation because he was turned around looking at me for some kind of reaction. He saw it to, he simply frowned at me and then turned back towards the road. I looked away from him and over at T-Dog who was shaking his head. Daryl was pissed off the rest of the time, more so than usual.
"Alright should we get the guns or Merle first?" Glenn questioned out loud as we all gathered outside the vehicle and grabbed our few weapons. I brought my crossbow, of course, a knife in my boot, and a revolver just in case at my hip.
"My brother of course." Daryl snapped
"I'm not walking the streets with no protection." T-Dog spoke up earning a piercing glare from Daryl.
"Daryls right, let's get Merle first and then the guns." Rick wasn't taking no for an answer and he started walking towards Atlanta. T-Dog was pouting about it but kept his mouth shut, Daryl tried to walk next to me for a second but I sped up to walk by Glenn. Screw Daryl, I'm everybody's type.
When we got to Atlanta we hid in alleys and followed Glenn to the building Merle should be in. But when we all entered the building and walked up the stairway there were walkers crowding the door. Rick, T-Dog, and Daryl took care of them as Glenn and I watched the rear for stragglers. I heard a loud sigh of relief and T-Dog say the door was still locked so none of the walkers could reach Merle. T-Dog used the bolt cutters to get the lock off and we piled on the roof. Only to see no man chained to anything.
"Merle!" Daryl shouted earning a shut up from one of the guys. We searched the area for some sort of clue on where Merle went.
"No!" Daryl cried over and over again.
"Oh God." I walked off to gag over the side of the roof.
"You can kill geeks, skin and gut squirrels like it ain't nothin, and you're gonna puke over a hand?" Daryl asked me after he was through freaking out over his missing brother.
"That shits nasty." I mumbled walking away from the unsympathetic man.
"That's my brother all right, nobody can kill Merle but Merle." Daryl said proudly I rolled my eyes and tried to contain myself as Daryl put Merles hand in a very grossed out looking Glenns bag.
"Anyone can die from that much blood loss." Way to rain on his parade Rick. We figured out that Merle jumped over to the next building and probably went down through the door on the other roof.
