I had been is Woodbury for a few very long months, I started noticing little things that were wrong with this town, but I never received any actual proof.

The Governor ran a tight ship, making sure everyone stayed in line. He also wouldn't let anyone leave, so I didn't try, not yet anyways. I was waiting for the right time. Surprisingly, Andrea and Merle were here to. Not that I really stayed in contact with them, I wasn't fond of either of my former group members.

We all had a curfew, but tonight there was some sort of show they were putting on. Having no idea what was going to happen, I went anyways. Walkers were chained to the ground around what looked like a small arena.

The bleachers sat off to the side at a safe distance as everyone from Woodbury cheered, except for me. The governor and Merle stepped out with a few of the guards and announced there would be a fight happening. That's when I noticed the hooded figure that was being held down in the middle of the arena.

"This man, is from a the group that attacked our own! He deserves to die, am I right?"

Attacked our own? Had I missed something?

The crowd cheered and I stood up from my seat, silently making my way to the ground but far enough from the walkers that I couldn't be hurt or suspected of something.
The body of the captive looked familiar, he was muscular and wearing a cut off shirt.
Oh no..

They took off the cream colored sack and there he was, Daryl. Alive.

"Daryl!" I screamed as the crowd booed. His head snapped in my direction, but I wasn't sure if he actually saw me. They were going to make the two brothers fight. I got closer, horrified by the whole situation.
"Daryl watch out!" I called as a walker almost grabbed his arm, he moved quickly and finally noticed me.

"Sam." I saw his mouth say my name, but I didn't get to actually hear it. My heart fluttered as he looked at me with such emotion that I couldn't explain it, I wasn't even sure what it meant. Merle and Daryl started fighting together and suddenly everything got crazy. A riot broke out and everyone was screaming and running away from the now loose walkers.
"Sam!" I followed the voice and almost cried when Daryl came into view only a few feet from me.

"Daryl." I whispered as he walked towards me, I could tell he wanted to say something but gun shots broke out breaking the trance.

"We gotta go!" Daryl grabbed my hand and led me away from the crowd, threw the streets, and to Rick.

"Good to see you again." Rick grinned slightly at us, handing Daryl a gun. After a long stressful shoot out, kind of like the old west, with newer weapons. We made it out, I didn't know the governor was holding Maggie and Glenn captive here. If I had known.. I could have done... Something. Anything.

"So you were just hanging out there and happened to find Daryl?" Rick interrogated me as I sat on a bench outside.

"Yes." I said again, getting really annoyed with the sheriff.

"It just all seems a little strange."

"Seriously Rick? We've been stuck together since the beginning, you know me." I watched him pace back and forth, thinking. I know that he's just stressed about what happened, but I'm starting to get really annoyed.

"I know, I'm sorry Sam. I'm just stressing out over what happened."

"I know, it's okay. I understand." I say getting up and laying a hand on his broad shoulder.

"That governor is a real piece of work." Rick sighed looking off into the distance. "I have a feeling it's not over, they'll be coming for us now."

"And we'll be here waiting." A gruff voice spoke behind us, I knew it was Daryl before I had to turn around. I hadn't spoken to him since we left Woodbury, we've all just been busy.

"I'll leave you two at it." Rick slightly grinned leaving me standing there facing the fields.

"Thought you said you wouldn't leave anymore." Although I knew he was there, I still jumped at the sound of his voice.

"I didn't mean to." I said as I studied a few lone walkers way past the fences we protected. I was trying to take my mind off of the extremely muscular man now standing directly behind me.

"What happened?" His breath tickled my neck. What did he say again?

"Shane turned on me, he left me for dead. When I came back to the farm, it was burning down and everyone was gone. I thought.." I felt Daryl's hand on my shoulder, I didn't even realize I was crying.

"I thought everyone was dead." Daryl turned me around to look at him, for the first time in awhile he looked deeply into my eyes. "I thought you were gone." I whispered looking into his Georgia blue eyes.

"I'm here." He pulled me into him, hugging me tightly as I silently sobbed into his chest.
When I thought Daryl was dead, I pushed all feelings for him down deep inside me. I tried to forget about him, about all of the people I had grown to know in this small steady group.

But when I saw Daryl again, everything came back. Every emotion surfaced and I realized something so incredible and so fragile that I don't think I would be able to say it aloud, even if I tried. This feeling was so unknown to me, that it scared me.

Daryl held me at arms length, looking at me quietly.
"What are you doing?" I question staring at him through my thick eye lashes. His face was dirty and I feel like his hair got longer from the last time I saw him.

Without saying anything Daryl pulled me back into him and connected his lips with mine. His hands found their way to my hips as I tangled my fingers through his hair. The kiss was urgent and passionate, giving me chills and butterflies all at once. It was the kind of kiss that girls used to dream about, normal girls that is.

"Oh sorry- I- sorry" someone stuttered causing me to take a quick step back. Carl grinned back and forth between us, I blushed slightly refusing to look at either of them. The young boy left without saying another word.

"Carl won't keep it a secret like Carol. They'll be talking about us soon enough." I admitted turned back to Daryl. He stood thinking for a moment before rushing back to me, putting a hand behind my head.

"Let them talk." He muttered, kissing me again. This time harder and more quickly. I couldn't help but smile into the kiss.

This was terrifying, but wonderful at the same time.
