I fell asleep soon after my conversation with Rick and Lori. The couch was unoccupied so I claimed it. I woke up to a women crying extremely loudly. Otis's wife cried in Beth's arms and Rick was patting Shane's back.
"He risked his life for Carl, your husband was a hero." Shane wasn't making eye contact with anyone as he said this. He was lying, I don't know what happened, but that wasn't it. Hershel didn't say much but rushed into the other room to care for Carl.
"The others should be here today. If they're not back by noon we'll go get them." Glenn plopped next to me and quickly said. Sophia bounced down the stairs smiling at me. She waved hello to us both and sat on the other side of me.
"Is mommy coming today?" Sophia innocently looked up at me with her big brown eyes.
"She sure is." I grinned playfully messing up her hair. As soon as I said that Dale entered the house and almost passed out when he saw us.
"You guys are safe!" Sophia and I stood up and walked over the older man as he enveloped the small child in a hug.
"Carol and Daryl are outside, might want to head over there." There was a certain mischievous glint in Dales eyes, I gave him a strange look and followed Sophia outside. Daryl was turned away from us in the driveway next to the rv. Carol stood in front of him shaking her head at something he said. That's when she noticed us standing on the front porch. She covered her mouth and sobbed. "Mommy!" Sophia yelled sprinting towards her mother. I smiled watching them, Daryl quickly turned around and his eyes met mine. It was as if it was happening in motion, Daryl dropped his bow and started walking towards me, while I made my way towards him. When we finally were close enough Daryl grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug.
"Daryl I'm fine." He didn't say anything but kept me in the hug. He suddenly let me go and walked off before turning to say "next time you do something stupid, make sure you take your weapon so you can at least protect yourself." He left me standing there feeling heartbroken and foolish. He hugs me and then snaps at me?
"Don't let him fool you, he was worried sick about you." Carol walked up next to me and wrapped her arm around my shoulder.
"I can never repay you for what you have done for me Sam."
"You don't have to Carol, I couldn't let anything happen to her." Carol nodded with tears still in her eyes and walked into her house with Sophia. I followed after them but stopped short when Daryl stormed out of the house grabbing my wrist and pulling me off to the side of the porch.
"Daryl what are you-" I was cut short by him gently pushing me up against the house and pressing his lips firmly on mine. Without even having to think about it I wrapped my arms around his neck and he snaked his muscular arms around my waist pulling me towards him tightly. The kiss was deepened and my stomach filled with butterflies, something I was every unfamiliar with. Daryl finally broke the kiss and pressed his forehead against mine. His Georgia blue eyes stared deeply into my green ones.
"Don't you ever run off on me again."
"I won't." I whispered back, not wanting this moment to ever end.
Someone cleared their throat and Daryl suddenly pushed himself as far away from me as possible.
Carol stood grinning from ear to ear at us, "Rick's asking for you Daryl." He gave a short nod and was off into the house. Carol motioned for me to follow, "it's about time." She whispered as I passed. A small smile played on my lips but I didn't let her see.
Carl soon got better and out of the kindness of Hershel's heart, he let us stay in his yard. I of course, still had to share a tent with Daryl. Which wasn't actually that bad, though neither of us spoke of the kiss I knew it was special. I hoped it was for him anyways, it's hard to tell. Daryl went back to his 'I'm a redneck, lone wolf, badass. I'll shoot you with my cross bow cause that's how I roll.' Attitude. He stayed his distance from me while people were around, but when it was just us, he was nicer and a little more talkative. Though there was no physical touching or talking about feelings. Not that I mind, about the feelings part, I'm still not sure how I feel about him.
"Sam!" I stopped and let Glenn catch up to me.
"Where are you headed?" He questioned looking panicked but yet he has a glint to his eyes? Weird.
"Uhm, the woods? To hunt."
"I need to tell you something, like now."
"Okay. Talk." Glenn looked around to make sure everyone was out of hearing range.
"So, Lori asked me to go the pharmacy to pick her up some.. Things. Maggie went with me and one thing led to another and..."
"You had sex." I said simply making Glenn cringe.
"We made love." He corrected me, love? I wonder what that feels like.
"So you're in love with Maggie, a girl you just met.." I tried not to sound disgusted but really? Love? Maybe it's because I don't know what it is, I've never loved someone. I've never made love, I've only ever had sex.
"I have been since I first saw her, maybe not love, but I like her, I like her a lot."
"Well I'm happy for you Glenn, Maggie's a catch." I winked at him and kept walking but stopped short. "What did Lori ask you to pick up?" I turned as Glenn stayed silent. He shifted nervously under my gaze.
"Lori's pregnant." He finally said, quiet enough that if I wasn't listening I wouldn't have heard it.
"Are you serious? You've got to be fucking kidding me." I spat out.
"She asked me not to tell anyone, so please don't say anything to the others."
I stomped off in the direction I was originally going. "I won't." I called out to him before I was out of hearing range.
How could someone be so stupid and careless?
I wonder if she even knows who the father is.

How do you guys think she should handle the Lori thing? Play it cool or eventually tell her off?
