I silently watched Daryl stomp away from the Trisha women, he was visibly annoyed as he passed me, sending a quick look my way before disappearing down the court yard.

"He likes you." Carol stated chopping up some carrots from Ricks little garden.

"You're lying." I muttered back grabbing a can and pouring into the giant pot. Vegetable soup was for dinner, one of my least favorite things, but I want complaining.

"No, he does. Go talk to him, you'll see." I shrugged my shoulders wondering is she was right. Had Daryl caught feelings for me? Was our random kisses more than just a momentary fling?

"what would I say?" My question hung in the air for a moment, I looked to Carol to see if she had heard me. She looked as if she was racking her brain for something.

She sighed before giving me a simple answer. "Just ask him."

I nodded, feeling a bit brave. In all honesty I just wanted to know what was going on between us. We're in a zombie apocalypse, every moment counts because you could die tomorrow. If I had any chance with Daryl I wanted to know, I wanted to be with him for as long as I could before my time ran out.

I started to exit the food area but a fragile hand stopped me. "Thanks for telling me Daryl was free." The blonde women exclaimed twisting her hair around her fingers.

"Oh, uh-" I looked back to see Daryl now walking back towards our area, but stopping when he saw us talking. He then ventured to one of the picnic tables, sitting on top of it talking to some Woodbury boy.

"We're hooking up tonight." She smiled as if she was a little girl on Christmas getting the only toy she'd ever wanted.

"Oh." I breathed out, hurt etching my face. I turned to Daryl and made short eye contact before I turned away. "Good luck then, I'm happy for the both of you." I lied, my heart sinking further.

"Sam." Carol called after me, she must have heard our conversation. I made my way swiftly back into the prison, wanting to be as far away from everyone as possible.

My cell felt warming even though it wasn't suppose too. I lay on the small cot, staring at the ceiling. My blanket, being used as a door shifted to the side reviling all the is Daryl Dixon.

"What?" I asked sitting up in my bed, my dark hair flying in all different directions I'm sure.

"What's yer deal?" He walked inside letting the blanket fall back into place, separating us from the rest of the world.

"My deal? Seriously?." I hissed, running a hand through my hair trying to smooth it. Daryl's face softened taking a seat at the end of the cot.

"So I heard you and Trisha hit it off." I tried to sound neutral, but I think my voice betrayed me when Daryl looked up at me squinting.

"What are ya talkin about?"

"You know, she said you two were hooking up tonight. " I stood up from my bed preparing to leave the room. I couldn't be around the youngest Dixon boy right now. "Use protection." I said harshly pushing back the blanket, Daryl's strong hand grabbed my arm pulling me back in one swift motion.

He pushed me up against the concrete wall forcefully, but no enough to actually hurt me.

"I ain't hookin up with some skank." He said lowly, giving me all sorts of chills. Trisha had lied, I'll know not to believe anything she says next time.

"Oh." Was all I said, Daryl's hand never left my arm but his other found it's way to my small waist.

"If I was goin hook up with someone it'd always be you Sam." That was enough to put me into cardiac arrest, not really. But it's possible.

"Then why do you always act so bipolar towards me? One second you're kissing me and the next you're pushing me away." My voice said softly, I stared into the blue eyes that I had grown to love. My heart ached for him, like it never had before.

"I don't know how to let anyone in, I ain't good at it and I probably never will be. You're the most I've ever expressed my feelins towards." He confessed, surprising me. I didn't expect a real answer, especially not one like that.

"I understand." Daryl's grip tightened on my waist, but he let go of my wrist when he knew I wasn't going anywhere. "Stay with me?" I asked hopeful. The night had fallen upon us without me knowing it, I could feel myself getting tired.

"I have watch early in the morning."

"Stay with me until then?" My heart pounded waiting for an answer. He nodded not saying anything, I brought a free hand up to rest behind his neck. I lightly tugged him forward signaling for Daryl to lean in.

He did so without question, my lips lightly brushed his. I pulled away to make sure it was okay, I never enabled a kiss with him before. The Dixon smirked before crashing his lips back into mine.

Daryl spent the whole night in my room, we didn't do anything but lay in bed and cuddle up close to each other, sharing then occasional kiss.

I was falling so hard for Daryl Dixon, it was hard not to confess it to the world... or what's left of the world.
