Avoiding the truth

Chapter 17

NIALL'S POV

When I got home I set about staight away on things that might help Kelly wake up. I sat on the couch with a notepad and pen and got staight to work.

-------------7 Hours Later---------------

"Niall you need to rest!" Liam said after arriving home from the hospital 3 hours ago and demanding I sleep. "NO! I need to come up with an idea to wake Kelly up!" I shouted.

"Shh! You'll wake everyone up! You can think tomorrow!" He said a little quiter than me. "NO I'm staying up! Nothing will ever be good enough." I stared to break down. "Liam why am I such a failure?" I asked tears streaming down my face.

"You are not a failure! You have worked so hard to try and come up with something to bring her out of her coma and she will be so greatful when she wakes up!" Liam comforted me.

"And what if she dosen't wake up?" I said bringing my fears to light. "No, don't even think that way." Liam said, "Now get to sleep." Liam said and I gave in getting up and going to bed.

------------ One Week Later-------------

NIALL'S POV

I had been trying all week with things to wake Kelly up and nothing worked! I had tryed making recordings o the fans and the boys saying how much the loved her and missed her and that hadn't worked.

I tried sitting with her and telling her non stop how much I wanted her to wake up and how much I loved her. Yeh that didn't work either.

I tried playing some of her faveourite songs to her and I sat with her and played her favourite movie, the notebook. Nothing worked. I was sitting on my bed trying to come up with more ideas when the boys walked in

. "Niall," Louis started, "We are really worried about you Niall so.." "We have come up with an idea that we are sure will work." Harry smiled and looked at Louis. "YOU CAN WRITE HER A SONG!" They all shouted in unison. Of course! Why didn't I think of that before?!

HARRY'S POV

A week after Liam dropped the bombshell that both the people I liked were atually lying to me I was feeling a little better thanks to Louis. He made sure I didn't mope around and he is always there for me.

He told me to grab life by the neck becase you life can change at any moment. I was so greatful for his friendship. After Niall tweeted about Kelly's accident to help with the recording of the tape to help wake Kelly up her phone had been flooded with messages all from the same person.

Katie. I decided to call her today becasue from the messages it looked like she wanted to pay Kelly a visit in hospital. Katie picked up on the first ring. "Kelly?" She said down the phone.

"No its Harry atually." I replied. "Oh um...-" "Kelly is in hospital with a coma. I thought you might have heard and wanted to see her." I got staight to the point. "Yes! When can I see her?" Katie asked.

"Well i was thinking if you tell me your adress I could come pick you up now with the rest of the boys." I said. "Yeh that would be great." Katie said. I wrote down her adress and rounded up the boys.

I put her number into my phone and left with the boys all except Niall who wanted to stay and finish the song. I have never seen him write a song so quickly! I texted Katie on the way to her house. 'On our way to urs now c u soon :) btw this is Harry ;) x' We arrived at Katie's miutes later and she hopped in wearing skinny red jeans and a black top.

"Hi, you look nice." I said. "As do you styles." She said and winked. "Guys cut with the flirting!" Louis sais and then looked at Katie. "Oi! You trying to steal my look?" Louis asked referring to the red jeans. Katie just laughed. "So how is Kelly?" Katie asked me.

"She is doing alright, in a coma with a few broken bones but after her heart stopping she is doing much better. Niall is at home woking on a song to try and wake her up." I filled her in. "But why is Niall working on a song for your girlfriend?" Katie inquired.

"Um... Its complicated but I don't think I love Kelly anymore and Niall does. I just think she will be better off with him." I said. Katie smiled. We pulled up at the hospital and we all got out. "I hope she wakes up soon." Katie said as we walked into the hospital.

NIALL'S POV

I was frantically writing the end of the song and I finally came up with the perfect lyrics. I played it through one more time and it was perfect! I put my guitar in its case and called a taxi on my phone.

I threw on a jacket and the first pair of boots I could find and ran out to the taxi. As soon as I got out of the taxi I ran to Kelly's ward. The boys and Katie were crowded round her and when I burst though the door they turned round and smiled.

"Finished?" Harry asked. "Yeh mind if I sing it now?" I asked and they all got up so I could sit next to Kelly. I played the into and lauched into the song.

I finished playing the song and I help her hand. "I wrote that for you! I love you so much and I really wnat you to-" My breath was caught when I felt her sqeeze my hand. "Baby?" I asked unsure. She flickered her eyes open, the sight I had been waiting for for weeks. "Oh my god!" I whispered.

I couldn't quite believe this was happening. "Niall?" She said loking at me." "Kelly! I missed you so much baby come here!" I said pulling her into a hug. "That song was beautiful." She whispered into my ear." I started crying with the sheer relief and joy I was experiening right now.

"Thank you so much." I said breathing in the scent of her hair. I released her from the hug. "What do you mean?" She asked. "For waking up, for being you, for being the inspiration to my song." I said and she laughed. "Niall? Why are you wearing my shoes?"

She asked laughing. I looked down and sure enough I was waering her uggs. The other boys and Katie all came round and gave her hugs. I had missed her so much. What did I do to deserve her?
