Avoiding the truth

Chapter 27

NIALLS' POV

We were driving home and this was the first time I had a chance to think. The car ride was silent as I think Kelly was thinking lots too. Not as much was on the line for her though.

I had a band, fans and expectations. I knew Kelly and the baby would recive the blame when I left the band. I would have to double my protection over her especially now she is pregnant.

I decided I would go and visit the boys first and explain my plan to them. I know they have also been having mixed feelings about being in the band now they all have girlfriends and it wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to leave also.

The only person I knew would be upset is Harry. He is stable with Katie but he hasn't been with her aslong as we have been with our girlfriends.

After I had told the boys what I was planning I would go to management and explain that I wanted to leave the band. Then I might break the news to the fans in the new year. We finally arrieved home and Kelly looked at me.

"I can tell you've been thinking." She said reading my mind. "Yeh I have and I was wondering if I could go out for the day? Only if you are sure you will be ok. I have things to sort out." I said. "You've only just found out I was pregnant and yor already running for the hills."

Kelly joked. "I'll stay-" "I'm joking." Kelly cut me off. "Call me if you need me." I said and leaned over to kiss her. "Want help into the house?" I asked and Kelly shook her head. "I can manage." Kelly said smiling and opening the car door.

I waited untill she had got safely into the house before starting the car and driving the short way to where the boys were. Kelly surprised me at how well she could already walk even though it has only been about 3 hours since the casts had been removed.

I arrived at the location of the boys and found them all sitting round a table with concerned looks on their faces. Harry had his head in his hands.

"Niall!" Louis said smiling as I walked in and took the seat next to him. "Hey guys whats wrong?" I asked referring to the looks on their faces. "The boys were talking about leaving the band." Harry said with a sour expression on his face.

"I can't belive you would even think about it!" Harry said, "But I know you'll back me up Niall. You wouldn't leave the band would you?" Harry said with hopeful eyes.

"Atually thats what I came to talk to you all about." I said and Harry stood up abrubtly walking off towards the bathrooms. "I should go see him." Louis said and also got up from the table.

"So you guys want to leave the band?" I asked and Liam and Zayn nodded. "Harry and Louis arn't so sure though." Liam said. "We have tried to cheer him up, After all it is his birthday." Zayn added. "Guys I have a plan," I said, "But I'm going to need your help."

"So what is it?" Liam asked never the one to agree to something before he knew every detail. "Zayn I know you and Perrie are already engaged and well, me and Kelly recived some news this morning." I said and they looked at me expectedly.

Just then Harry and Louis came out of the bathroom and Louis had his arm round Harry. "Well as we are all here I might aswell make the announcment." I said, "Me and Kelly are expecting a baby." I said and all the boys faces lit up.

They smiled and cheered, hugging me. I smiled and thats when Harry spoke. "I can see now. Is that why you wanted to leave the band?" Harry asked and I nodded.

"The thing is I really love Kelly and I think you all feel the same way about your girlfriends so I was wondering if, maybe, you wanted to have a big joint wedding!"

I finally revealed my plan to the boys and Liam and Zayn smiled. Harry and Louis just looked at eachother. "I really want to show her I am comitted and I think I am ready for this. I was going to propose on Christmas so tomorrow." I said and Liam and Zayn again hugged me.

Harry and Louis again looked shocked. "Oh and happy birthday man!" I said patting Louis on the back. He breifly smiled before the solum looked returned to his face. "Guys whats wrong? I thought you'd be happy?" I asked. "Get married?" Harry said.

"I'm 19!" Harry almost shouted. "No." Louis said. "What I don't follow." I said bluntly. "What me and Harry are trying to say is this is all happining too fast. Leaving the band! Getting married! NO! To both questions." Louis said. "I think we should go." Harry said and Louis followed him out the door.

"Well that went well." I said and Liam and Zayn sat down next to me. "I think it's a great idea." Liam said. "I've been thinking about proposing to Sophie for a while now and I would love a joint wedding!" Liam said and Zayn nodded. "I would love that too." Zayn said. "So whats up with them?" I asked referring to Louis and Harry.

"I think thier just upset about leaving the band." Liam said. "Shall we head to management?" Zayn asked. "Would you mind if we popped to the shops I want to put Kelly's ring under the tree tomorrow." I said and they nodded.

We arrived at the shops in a hurry. The Christmas eve shoppers were hurrying around trying to get the last of their shopping. We headed straight to the jewlerry shop and Liam looked for a ring too. "Hello can I help you?" A blond women said and I nodded.

"I'm looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. Money isn't a problem. Also I was wondering if I could have some words engraved on it." I finished. "Wow thats quite a description!" She said laughing and directing me towards the cabinet of rings. I spotted one and intantly knew it was the ring for Kelly. It was perfect. It was gold with a little silver heart on the top.

"Could I get that one?" I asked and she looked surprised. "Of course, that was exceptionally fast." She said laughing and bringing out the ring. "Could I get a few words engraved on it by the end of today?" I asked wanting to get the ring as quickly as possible.

"Sure just write down what you want and I'll see if the engraver is busy." The women said walking over to a room in the back. I wrote 'forever yours' and 'all these little things' on the white piece of paper and handed it back to the blond women when she came back through.

"Your in luck," She said, "The engraver is free and it should be done in about an hour." The lady informed me once I had told her where I wanted the words.

One hour and 15 minutes later we were sitting at a small cafe preparing what we were going to say to managment. Liam had bought a ring too also planning to propose on Christmas morning. "Lets just say-" Zayn started but was cut off by his phone ringing. It was Harry.

"Hello?" Zayn said. "Yeh, umm ok, see you soon, bye." Zayn finished. "Looks like management will have to wait, Harry and Louis have something very important to tell us. They insisted we come over.
