My beautiful land brought out the best in people. The each season is more beautiful then the last. I stood on a rock, looking out at my snow covered home. My pride is very welcoming and kind. Unless you are a wolf. We've been at war with them since the beginning of time. They constantly attack us and try to take our territory. No one has ever attempted to solve the feud. But when I'm the leader of this pride, things will change for the better.

"Alyssa your father has something he wants to tell you," said a voice. I whirl around to see one of the stronger members of my pride. I nod to him.

"Thank you for informing me," I said. Being around the members of my family and comrades, I have to act like I am very stuck up. But I hate it. I just want to be me. He bows his head and ran off with his tail an ears flowing in the wind. I turn back to the view. My white ears drooped. My tail stopped swinging. I hate this. I want to be free.

~time skip~

I arrived at the cave. "Father?" I call out. My father slowly emerged from the dark cave. His grey hair accented his blond ears. He smiled when he saw me.

"Ah my lovely daughter, I have very important news to discuss with you," he said. I nod and fallow him into our cave. I sat down on the stone ground across from each other.

"So father what do you wish to tell me?" I ask sitting up straight. He sighed and cupped his hands in his lap.

"I am growing older and older each day. I need to pass on my title. But I don't want you to lead alone. So I will let you find love before the end of this month. If you don't find love I'll pick for you," He said. My eyes narrowed Into slits.

"What?! I can lead on my own! I don't need a man weighing me down!" I yell with noticeable anger. My father sighed.

"Honey I know you don't agree with me, but I'm giving you a chance to find love. Who knows when I will die. It could be years, months, or it could be tomorrow. I just want you to be happy," He said. My anger faded when I saw his pained expression. My ears drooped.

"I know you want the best for me father. But love takes time. I will try but I can't promise that I will be able to find someone. If you will excuse me, I need some time alone," I said. I walked out of the cave before my father could say anymore.

I stomp threw the small groups of Cat people gathering around to see our hunters return from their trip. I was to distracted by my fathers words, that I didn't notice the limping hunters returning. Soon, I heard the crowds hurrying to help the others. My attention shot towards the crowd. Finn, the leader of the hunting group, noticed me. His perfect black ears with white tips perked up. I noticed his tail wag in the slightest. He crossed his arms and smirked.

"Hey," he said walking up to me.

"Hi."

"So how's it been?" He asks. "I can tell somethings up. Your ears are down and your eyes are in slits." I sigh.

"I have to find love in a month or my father will pick for me," I explain knowing he'd get it out of me eventually. Finn has this way of finding things out. So even if I don't tell him he'd find a way to get his answer. He seemed slightly enjoyed by my words.

"Do you have an eye on anyone yet?" He asks.

"No," I said crossing my arms. "This is all just a waste of time. So what happened to your group?" Finn got intense.

"We were ambushed. By those territory-stealing-mutts. If I see them again they will regret ever attacking us," Finn said clenching his fist. I touch his fist slightly as he flinched. He looked away from me. "I'm taking another group out with me to send them back into their territory." I gaze at the ground. I need to stop this.

"No need. I'm gonna try to reason with them. I'll leave at night fall," I said. I go to turn away but Finn grabbed my arm.

"It's not safe for you to go out there. They could kill you," Finn said.

"Yes I know. But I know I can stop this," I said. "Please keep this a secret. If I don't return in two days, come and get me."

"If you're still alive," Finn said. A sigh escaped my lips.

"Yeah."
