Dianna's POV
I sighed, my belly full of warm delicious food. All around me, pack members are sitting on this grass, some chatting, some half asleep. Cassie had wandered off in search of her friends and so was Tess. This left just me and Chase alone.
Chase ate quite a huge amount of food. It was shocking to see him eating so much and yet managed to maintain his figure. Amusingly, he had informed me as a matter of factly that werewolves have high metabolism and he could eat as much as possible and not gain weight at all.
Chase turned to me, his expression serious.
"We have not yet have our first date."
I blushed.
"Would you like to go out with me on Monday after school? There is a place I would like to bring you to."
Smiling happily, I nodded. A warm feeling was spreading in my chest. Chase smiled back and started leaning towards me. Automatically, I brought my face closer to his. Just as our lips were to touch, a guy called out from the edge of the pack's personal football field. "How about a game of football, Chase?"
Chase cursed softly as I jerked away. He sighed and turned to look at me, as if worried that I would be scared of him leaving my side. Smiling at his thoughtfulness, I gestured for him to go ahead. He flashed me a quick grin and was off dashing into the field, whooping. I laughed. Boys and their footballs!
"Did you enjoy tonight's gathering?" Jessie asked, sitting down beside me.
Being mated to a member of the East American pack member, made Jessie part of the pack just like me. She came earlier, along with her mate, Gordon. Gordon was pretty stern looking with his three inch long scar running from his right cheek to lips. The only time I saw him smile was when he was with Jessie. He treated her like his own goddess, helping her barbeque her food and bring it to her. It was very adorable, watching him running to and fro from the pit as he worried over whether Jessie had enough to eat.
"It was fun. Everyone seemed nice and welcomed me. This was better than I thought it would be." I replied.
"Glad that you like it. You do feel like you are home, isn't it?"
"Yup." I said and smiled happily.
"Well, dear girl, welcome to the pack."
I smiled. I had been afraid at first when the girl, Dorothy, confronted me and said that I was too weak and cannot shift. I was so afraid that I was rendered speechless and had to depend on Chase and his friend, Crane, to defend me. Because of this, I had thought that everyone would avoid or hate their alpha female for being so weak. Yet, earlier, when I was sitting and enjoying the food with Chase, quite a few members approached me, telling me that they would love to have me as part of their pack and that they all felt that Dorothy was an annoyance. I have never felt so touched. This was one of my few most happiest memory. To be accepted by Chase's pack members. I feel like I am finally at home.
"Hey."
I looked up to see a very beautiful girl looking down at me. I smiled questioningly. The girl simply plopped down next to me.
