TEASER
I clutched my shoulder, trying to stop the bleeding. I could feel the blood start to soak through my jacket. The wind picked up my bangs covered my eyes. My dad stood in front of me, his hands extended to protect me.
"I don't know what the hell you're after, but if you think I'll let you get away with hurting my son you're wrong." His hands hardened into fists.
"That's not up for discussion." The woman said, her long black hair swirling around her, her chakra rippling like waves. Her hands moved together, her palms meeting together, a ball of chakra forming. "I'm not afraid of you Hokage."
"Who the hell are you?!"
She just smiled, her teeth glinting like a sharp blade. "Time to die." The ball of chakra grew exponentially, and my dad took a step back. I could feel the pull of her chakra, my blood pulsing under my fingers.
"Son..." Dad said quietly. I heard a stick crack and I looked to my right to see Master Sasuke. He didn't meet my eyes.
"Naruto..." He said.
My dad nodded not looking back at him. My eyes grew wide as I watched the air catch flame as her chakra expanded, my dad took another step back, pushing me away from her. I stumbled back, but Sasuke caught me. No one would meet my eyes. What's going on? I looked back to my dad and watched in horror as the chakra touched him, blood dripping from his fists. It was hurting him.
"Dad!"
"Boruto..." He said quietly gritting his teeth. "Sasuke." He said his voice sharpening. His arm pressed into my chest like a railing, forcing me back. "Please protect my son."
"Always." Sasuke immediately said. He grabbed my other good shoulder, and threw me over his back. I winced in pain. He teleported several hundred yards away, and kept running.
"No-" My voice cracked as he raced away. I watched as my father's figure drifted further and further away. He wouldn't make it away fast enough. Tears swelled in my eyes. He won't make it out in time. "DAD!!!" I screamed, reaching out to him, blood pouring down my side. "DAD DON't!!!"
What's happening? What's going on? This can't happen. This is impossible. My hands strained out back Sasuke's back desperately reaching out as he disappeared, Sasuke dragging me past the treeline. "DAD!!!!" I screamed.
"I'm sorry...Boruto." A voice like a whisper. Then the world exploded. Everything...everything burned. I felt my hair catch flame as Sasuke continued to run, the world turning iron hot white as everything physical disintegrated into nothing. My hands reached out forever into the nothingness.
"I'm sorry."
