Chapter 11: The Phoenix

They were all standing there, looking at Rebell in astonishment. 2 of them had no idea of what was going on. And the other two of them knew exactly what was going on.

Rebell was floating just few centimeters above the ground for few more minutes until she opened her mouth to scream and she did. Clary reacted quickly as she made them deff again. Her one hand pointed to three of them behind her and her other hand pointed at Rebell. She tried to take away her pain for as long as possible but she couldn't do anything anymore.

Rebell stopped screaming and Clary's hand mover back to her side as their hearing came back. They watched as Rebell fell onto the floor, groaning and hissing in pain. They ran to her as she kept trying to say something but they didn't understand a word that was coming out of her mouth.

„M-m-mmy... Ba-back...“ she muttered and Clary and Elijah moved to see her back. And as soon as they saw it, Elijah gasped at the sight before him but Clary just took in a sharp breath. And then she pushed them all away as she saw something under Rebell's skin moving. They looked at her confused but Clary didn't look at any of them. She was only looking in front of her, at the girl going through her first, real shift. They were watching, none of them were patient but to say that the shift was slow was an understatement.

2 hours passed by and Rebell was still on the floor, panicking about her back but Clary and Kaleb didn't allow nor Elijah nor Amber to get closer. And soon the skin on Rebell's back opened and two emormous wounds appeared. 
She gasped in pain, but no sound came out of her mouth. The pain was too big to say anything at all. It was too big to even try pleading for help. And soon two enormous wings showed themselves. Rebell looked at them terrified, not understanding what was going on. They all looked shocked. Rebell was half turned in what she really is but she was still holding back her power.

„Let it go, Rebell.“ Clary said slowly and Rebell looked at her as if she was insane. Why would she want her to turn into what she was turning? Why would anyone want her to turn into that? Why?

„You have no idea what I'm turning into. “ Rebell said and Clary and Kaleb smiled slightly while giving her a nodd with their heads, telling her that they know what she is.

„What you're turning into.... It's beautiful.. Something I wished I was for sooo long. You're destined to become this. You don't need to be afraid, you just need to let go. Unleash your power, Rebell. Let go of fears.“ Kaleb slightly screamed as Rebell clenched her teeth and her fists and soon her wings started burning. A flame by flame. Soon, her body was on fire too and she let out a breath as she felt the pain leave her and her body soon cooled down.

She looked at all of them as Amber and Elijah were looking at her with their eyes wide opened.

„What the hell just happened?!“ Amber and Elijah screamed at them, their confusion only growing bigger and then Elijah remembered. It all made sense now.

„You're the phoenix.“ he said in amazement as Amber was still confused as fuck. She kept asking them to explain the her what was going on and Rebell just rolled her eyes. She was being annoying right now. Clary teleported them back in the backyard of their pack house as Kaleb was still explaining everything to Rebell.

„I'm sorry. You're all cursed now.“ Rebell said and Clary smiled at her while the rest of them were looking at Rebell confused.

„It's not the first time I'm cursed.“ Clary said and on that their all heads snapped to her. Kaleb had no idea what she was talking about. Who would have cursed her? And with what kind of curse was she cursed? He asked himself and was about to ask her all that when she said that she'll explain later on.

„You're all cursed by the phoenix now. I mean, Clary and Kaleb are. The Phoenix curse is when you know who the phoenix is, who the person behind that power is, but you're unable to tell anyone that the phoenix exists. “ she said and the two of them nodded. They already knew all of that. The Phoenix is nothing new to them.
Rebell looked at her best friend, Amber, who was now understanding what was going on. Elijah, her father who looked at Rebell with different eyes. Those two, Elijah and Amber shared deeper bond with Rebell but they had no idea that once they kill Moon Goddess everything will change.
