I step up on the porch to Harvey's house. I ring the doorbell. I hear footsteps coming to the door, it swings open. Harvey stands in the doorway.
"Oh you must be the new babysitter. Thanks again for doing this." He says
I give him a confused face.
"I think you already know who I am.." I say
Harvey gives me a confused look.
"No. I don't know who you are." He says
I roll my eyes.
"Well you probably don't since you were so rude to me earlier." I say crossing my arms
"Wait what?" He asks
"Don't play dumb." I say rolling my eyes
"Who's at the door?" Someone yells
"Just some rude girl." Harvey says
"Excuse me??" I say
Another boy comes down the hall. I stop, twins.
"Oh. You." He says
"Didn't tell me you were a twin." I say
"Sorry I didn't think I needed to. This is Max." Harvey says pointing to the boy I was just talking to.
"Sorry about that." I say
"Fine." He says
"Anyway. Tilly is in the living room. We're just leaving." Harvey says
I step in. A little blonde haired girl comes running down the hall.
"Are you my babysitter?" She asks
"Yes. I'm Julia." I say
"Hi Julia!" She exclaims
I smile. Two parents come down the stairs.
"Thanks again for doing this." The mom says
"Oh it's no problem." I say
"We'll be back around 9." She says
"Phone numbers are on the table." The dad says
I nod.
"Ok well lets go boys. Oh and Leo, is upstairs. He's sick." The mom says
"Oh ok." I say
"Give him medicine before bed. It's on the table." She says
I nod.
"Ok. Let's go." She says
"Bye." I say
Max and Harvey follow their parents out the door.
"Julia come play with me!" Tilly exclaims
I follow the sound of her voice to the living room. Toys are scattered all over the floor.
I sit down on the floor with her.
"What shall we play?" I ask
"Dolls!" Tilly says
She hands me a doll.
"You can be Belle. I'll be Cinderella." She says
"Ok." I say
We play dolls until it's time for her dinner.
"What do you usually have?" I ask
"Macaroni and cheese." She says
She pulls out a microwaveable mac n cheese, she hands it to me.
"Thank you Tilly. Can you go get your brother for me?" I ask
"Sure!" She says
Tilly runs up the stairs. I laugh and put the mac n cheese into the microwave. Tilly comes back downstairs with Leo.
"Hey Leo. Feeling better?" I ask
He shrugs. Thy both climb up to the counter stools. The microwave beep, I take the food out and serve it into some bowls. I set the bowls in front of them.
"What do you usually have for drink?" I ask
"Apple juice!" Tilly exclaims
I open the fridge and take out and apple juice, I hand it to Tilly.
"Water." Leo says
I fill a cup with water and give it to him. Tilly gobbles down her food. Leo eats slowly.
"Wow Tilly that was fast. Was it good?" I ask
She nods.
"Good." I say
I take the bowl from her and wash it out.
"Take your time Leo." I say
He nods. I look at the clock, 7:30.
"Tilly is it time for you to go to bed?" I ask
"Noooo..." she says
"Tilly, I want you to get a full night of sleep." I say putting my hands up my hips
"But I'm not tired yet!" She wines
I look at Leo, he's still eating.
"Alright. You can go to bed when Leo's done eating. So you have 5 minutes." I say
"Yay!" She exclaims
She runs back into the living room. I laugh. I hear Leo getting off his chair.
"You fine bud?" I ask
He nods.
"Well let me give you your medicine." I say
I take it out of the box. I pour it into the mini cup. I hand it to him. He swallows it down.
"Gross." He says
"I know it's gross." I say
I put it back in the box. I quickly clean his dish.
"Ok well let's get you and Tilly to bed." I say
I walk into the living room.
"Tilly! Time for bed." I say
"Awh ok." She says
I follow her up the stairs. Leo goes into his room.
"Night Leo." I say
"Night." He says
I follow Tilly into her room. I help her get her pjs on and I tuck her in.
"Night Tilly." I say
"Night Julia! Thanks for babysitting me." She says
"Your welcome." I say
I turn the light off and close the door. I walk back down the stairs. I make my way to the couch. I turn the tv on.
By 8:45 I'm already tired. I click the tv off. I start to drift to sleep. Soon I'm out.
