I'm still up at 10:30pm. I didn't come down for dinner so Dylan brought it up to me. He tried to ask me what was wrong but I didn't say much. Dad came in and tried talking to me but there wasn't much success there either. I've ripped 7 pages of paper out of my notebook so far. I rub my eyes, I begin to start feeling tired when my door opens. Ryan stands in the doorway.
"Yeah?" I ask
"They said I was the last shot to come and talk to you." Ryan says closing the door.
"Oh." I say
He comes over to me.
"What's wrong?" He asks
I sigh.
"Your sister is what's wrong." I say
"What did she do?" Ryan asks
"She's hitting on Max and Harvey. She said she's going on a date with Harvey tomorrow." I say
"A date? Wow. And she just broke with Colin too." Ryan says
"Yeah exactly. Why does Ashley hate me so much?" I ask
Ryan pulls my laundry basket over and sits on it. He sighs.
"She's upset that our dad left and she doesn't know how to cope with it. So she uses anger to show her emotions. It's been going on for awhile before we moved here. She used to be a brat to me but now she does it to you. She still does it to me too.." Ryan says
"Why does she use anger?" I ask
Ryan shrugs.
"Ashley's Ashley. She doesn't know what's right and what's wrong. And well now she's just good at being mean she doesn't even try anymore." He says
I nod.
"Why do you care if Ashley goes out with Harvey?" Ryan asks
"I just..I don't know.. it doesn't feel right." I say
"Do you have feelings for one of them?" He asks
"I don't know. After what happened with Colin I'm not sure." I say
Ryan nods. The door bangs open, Ashley stands there.
"Why are you in here?" She asks Ryan
"I was-" I cut him off
"None of your business." I say
"Actually it is my business. He's my brother." Ashley says
"He's my brother too." I say
"Oh please, you're just a step sister. I'm his twin." She sneers.
"You can share your brother you know." I sneer
"Not with you." Ashley says
I shake my head.
"Just get out!" I say
"FINE!" Ashley yells.
She starts walking towards the door.
"Are you coming?" She asks Ryan.
"In a minute!" Ryan says annoyed
"I don't have a minute. Come. NOW." Ashley says
"Hold on." Ryan says
Ashley comes back towards us.
"No." she says
Ashley punches him in the face. Ryan stumbles back, I cover my mouth.
"Oops." Ashley says
"What the hell Ashley?!" Ryan asks
His nose starts bleeding. I hand him a tissue.
"Sorry. Now come on." She says
Ryan rolls his eyes.
"Fine." He says
He and Ashley walk back toward the door. Ashley closes it behind them. I sigh and flop onto my bed. I start to drift to sleep.
