         As soon as we get back to our house I pull Max into the bedroom. He closes the door behind us.
"Yes?" He asks
"What were you two really doing?" I ask sternly
"We were just talking I swear!" Max says putting his hands up
"What did you talk about?" I ask
"Her step mom and step siblings. Her real mom, her dad. Her real name is Julianna. She doesn't care what you call her-" I cut him off
"She told you all that?" I ask
"Well yeah we talked for awhile before you showed up. What were you doing anyway?" Max asks
I look down at the floor.
"Harvey?" Max asks
"I was talking to Ashley..." I say
"About?" He asks
"Just..not to be mean to Julia or anything. " I say kinda lying
"Okay..well Annie is still out there so.." max says trailing off
"Annie?" I ask
"Julia. I told you, you can call her whatever, Julia, Anna, Annie, Julianna, Julie, whatever." Max says shrugging
I nod. Max opens the door. Julia stands in the kitchen awkwardly.
"Sorry about that.." Max says
"Oh no it's fine." Julia says
"What do you want to do?" I ask butting in.
"Actually I was thinking of heading back." Julia says
"Oh okay, want me to walk you?" Max asks
I give him a dirty look.
"Oh sure thanks.." Julia says rubbing her arm.
Max ignores my dirty look and leads Julia to the door.
"I'll be back Harvey." Max says
I nod slowly and watch them walk out the door.
Julia's POV
     Me and Max walk along the side of the street together. I start to feel awkward.
"What you prefer for me to call you?" Max asks
"I don't care. I like all of them." I say
"How about Annie?" Max asks
"Fine with me." I say

    Silence cuts between us again. Max looks at me.
"What's wrong?" He asks
"Nothing." I say quickly
"Sure." Max says sarcastically
"I don't know I just feel weird. Because I used to date your cousin and I hang out with you guys.." I say trailing off
"It's not a big deal." Max says
I don't say anything. We stop at my driveway.
"Well thanks." I say
"No problem." Max says
"HEY HOTTIE." I heat Ashley yell from her window.
I roll my eyes. Max ignores her.
"See you later." Max says and walks away
I shake my head. I head up my driveway. As soon as I open the door Ashley is there in my face.
"So I was talking to one of the hotties today." Ashley says
"Ok. And?" I ask
"He was totally hitting on me. We talked." Ashley says
My face hardens.
"About what?" I ask
"Stuff. He said he wasn't what he expected." Ashley says with a smirk.
"What's that supposed to mean??" I ask
She shrugs.
"Well we're going on a date tomorrow." Ashley says
"A-a-a date?" I ask
"Yeah." She says
I run upstairs and slam my bedroom door shut. That's what they were talking about when I was at Max and Harvey's house. His date with Ashley. I sit at my desk and pull out my sketch pad. I start scribbling on it. Why do I feel so betrayed?
