I follow Julia all the way to the park. She runs fast, I see her run into the forest.
"Damn it." I say under my breath.
I pull my phone out and text Harvey where we are.
Max: she went into the forest by the park. Find us in there.
I put my phone away and run after her. Branches swing low all over the place. I duck and dodge.
"Julia?" I call
"Go away." She says
"Where are you?" I call
She doesn't answer. I keep walking in the forest. I hear rustling coming from my left, I turn around, I see something in the bushes.
"Julia?" I ask
"Yeah?" She asks
She slowly stands up.
"Are you okay?" I ask
She shakes her head. Julia steps out from the bushes. I bring her into a hug. I let go.
"You don't know half of the things Ashley says to me at home." Julia says
"Is she really that mean?" I ask
"Yes. Well from day one she's always been mean. Her mom hates me and Dylan." Julia says
"Why? You're her kids too." I say
"Step kids. Her real kids are the twins Ashley and Ryan. Ryan's more nicer than Ashley.." Julia says
"Let's go back to the park." I say
I follow Julia out of the park, we take a seat on bench.
"What else do I not know about you?" I ask
"A lot." Julia says
"Tell me then." I say
"Okay." She says
Harvey's POV
I walk to the park to find Max and Julia. As I near I see Max talking which Julia on a bench, they're both laughing. I start to feel a pain of jealousy. I try to shake it off as I get closer.
"Hey guys." I have
"Hey." Max says
"Whats up?" I ask
"Nothing really. We're just sitting here talking." Max says
I nod.
"Um so Harvey can I talk to you for a second?" Max asks getting up
I nod. Max pulls me away so Julia can't hear us.
"You know those girls we saw today at Julia's house?" Max asks
"Yeah?" I ask
"Ashley is Julia's step sister." Max say
"Oh." I say
"They do stuff to her." Max says
"So what are you saying?" I ask
"That she needs both of us. Not just one of us, both of us." Max says
I nod. I look at Julia, she sits there quietly.
"You're right." I say
"Let's get her home." Max says
"Why don't we bring her to our house?" I ask
"Okay." Max says
