I shove my face into my pillow when my alarm goes off. I click it off and get my outfit on. I start to brush my hair when Ashley comes in. We don't talk when she does my hair, she just does it then leaves. Today she does it in a Dutch Braid and adds a bow on the end. She leaves after she's finished, I finish getting ready and head down stairs. I eat my cereal quickly. I wait in my chair until it's time to go.
A girl I don't recognize is sitting in my seat when I get on the bus. I slowly sit down next to her, she looks over at me.
"Oh hello." She says
"Hi.." I say
"I'm Kimberly." She says
"Oh. I'm Julianna." I say
"What a pretty name!" She says smiling
"Thanks. Are you new?" I ask
She nods.
"We just moved here from England." She says
I nod. Max and Harvey get on, Max looks at me when he walks by. Kimberly waves to them.
"You know them?" I ask
"Of course! We're all best friends. We had a squad with two other people until Max and Harvey moved away." Kimberly says
"Oh.." I say
"Yeah." She says
Max is sitting diagonal from us. I look at him and nod toward Kimberly. He smirks. I turn my head back around. We're silence for the rest of the ride to school.
I jump off the bus and head into school. I find Cassie in the hall.
"Max and Harvey brought one of their friends down here just to mess with me." I say
"What?!" Cassie exclaims
"Yeah. Her name is Kimberly and she's really pretty." I say
"Wow ok then.." Cassie says
Max comes up to us.
"I see you met Kim." He says
"Yeah. Why is she here?" I ask crossing my arms
"She moved down here with her family. They're staying here for now. We used to date." Max says
"Oh really, I can tell." I say
"Jealous?" Max asks
"No." I say
"Good." He says
He walks away. I turn back to Cassie and grit my teeth.
"I hate him." I say
"We'll make him Jealous. Hang out with Jack more." Cassie says
"One, good plan, two no." I say
"What why?" Cassie asks
"I don't want to lead Jack on thinking I like him." I say
Cassie rolls her eyes. Jack walks over to us. His hair is pushed up with gel again.
"Hey Annie and Cassie." He says
"New girl, Kimberly, don't fall for her." I say
"Whoa what?" Jack asks
"Kimberly. She's from England. Max and Harvey know her, and Max is using her to play with me." I say
"Play..as in?..." Jack trails off
"As in try to make me jealous." I say
Jack raises one eyebrow. I shake my head.
"Don't fall for her dirty tricks." I say
Jack nods.
"Hottie 10 o'clock." Cassie says looking past me.
I turn around and see Kim approaching. She stops at us.
"Hey Julianna." She says
I nod.
"Who are these people?" She asks
"This is Cassie and Jack." I say
"Hi I'm Kimberly." She says
I can tell she's checking Jack out. I nudge her, she looks back at me.
"So is it okay if I call you Annie?" Kimberly asks
I grit my teeth. Max told her to say this. I see Jack out of the corner of my eyes trying to hold his anger in.
"No. People call me Julia." I say
"Oh. Okay. Well I heard that Jack calls you Annie. Why can't I?" Kimberly asks sweetly which makes me grit my teeth even more.
"I said no. I have to get to class." I say
I push past her and walk to class. I hear Cassie and Jack following behind me.
"She's evil." Cassie says
"Yeah no kidding." I say
