I looked in my rear view mirror just as I was pulling away from the house, just in time to see Marc run out of the house and shout my name. I slammed my foot down on the accelerator, there's no stopping me now.

I quickly left the small suburban area where my aunts house was located and sped onto the motorway, not sure of where I was actually going. I didn't have too much money, but I had enough.

I eventually turned on to the motorway and kept looking behind me while I was driving, checking to see if Marc was following. Luckily there was no sign of him at all, thank God because I would seriously flip out if there was. I had only been driving just over an hour but my eyes were starting to blur and my senses were going into overload, I seriously needed to take a break before I wrapped this car around a tree. I don't really think turning me and Damien into smush would be the best start to the trip.

Trip. Who was I trying to fool when calling it a trip?! I was running away, and kidnapping my little brother. Totally legit, obviously.

I saw I sign for some services 100 metres ahead and decided I was going to pull in there. I know it's night and Damien is sleeping, but I'll lock him in the car and nip into the shop real quick. I needed to pee real bad anyway, so I didn't really have a choice in the matter.

I took my next left and pulled into the nearest spot to the entrance so I could take as little time as possible. I turned one more time to check on Damien before I jumped out of the car and closed the door quietly, locking it with the handset. I literally ran inside and located the toilets quickly and, not going to lie, I have never pee'd under such pressure before. I was on the run with my kid bother from my psycho English teacher slash gang member and I was just sat here peeing. Some things just feel so mundane, you know?

Whatever!

I washed my hands quickly and headed out to the lobby area, hoping to grab myself a coffee to go from the small bar that was still open. Probably for late travellers like myself, or more likely truck drivers.

That was my plan. But when I turned to head towards the small bar, I was frozen to the spot.

I mean, I kind of expected this...kind of, but not really.

“Jasmine.”

His voice was a horrible command, low and authoritative. For a moment, I seriously considered running in the opposite direction but I fully knew that I wouldn't get far. He kept his distance, though, still a good few metres away. Also, even just seeing him brought out all this emotion inside me that I didn't even know was there. Just half an hour ago I was so intent on running from him but now, seeing him there looking so tired and stressed, I just wanted to run into his arms and for him to tell me it will all be okay.

Even though I know it won't be.

“Marc.” I replied, willing my voice not to crack but failing. I tried to internally prepare myself in 3 seconds for the lecture that I knew was coming.

But it didn't happen. All he did was open his arms up to me and, although I knew I shouldn't trust him, I couldn't help but think he was my safe place. I couldn't help it, my head was battling with my heart and it was evident which one was winning.

“I, Damien...he's in the car.” I said quietly, signalling that I didn't have much time. He nodded.

“I know, your aunt is with him.”

I nodded and began to walk towards him, but the look of shock on his face made me halt. He wasn't looking at me any more, he was looking just behind me.

“Mr. Hinchcliffe?...Marc! Hello!? What're you...” I began to ask but was stopped when I felt an arm wrap around my body, trapping my arms. I was too shocked to even scream, especially when I felt a cool piece of metal slide along my face and point at Marc.

Holy fuck, I am going to die.

WHAT IS GOING ON!?

“Scream, and I'll shoot him in the face. Got it?” A familiar voice whispered in my ear. Oh my God...no, it can't be...can it?

I vaguely heard people all around my start screaming and saw them running in fear but I was too trapped in this little bubble with me, Marc and my attacker. I hadn't seen his face yet, but I sure as hell recognised his voice.

“Let. Her. Go!” Marc shouted but all this earned was a laugh as I was shoved into the arms of another person, this one unfamiliar. He leered at me as he put one hand over my mouth and the other around my body, totally trapping me. By now, the tears were running down my cheeks like a waterfall and I could feel my body trembling with fear. Not for myself, but for Marc. And Damien. And my Aunt.

I looked over to where the man who previously held me was standing and couldn't help but to cry harder, knowing this is where it all came to an end. My journey, my trip, my life...everything ended here.

Or at least that's what I thought, until I saw Marc catch the attacker when he was off guard, successfully knocking the gun out of his hand and way out of his reach. From then, all I could see was a blur of fists and feet, punching and kicking and hitting so hard it made me feel the pain.

I fought with the guy holding me but I was being dragged away quickly towards the exit of the building, past screaming people who wouldn't dare try and help me. I didn't blame them. Just as I was being dragged out of the door, I managed to pull the hand away from my mouth.

“Marc!!!!!” I screamed as loud as I can, knowing it was pointless but also not knowing what else to say. What else was there to say at a time like this? A time when I knew I was going to die?

...”I'm SORRY!” Was all I had time to say before the hand was back over my mouth once again. I was choking on my own tears, feeling so pathetic that I couldn't do anything to help myself or Marc. I have never felt so bloody harmless and I hated it!!

“I'LL BE BACK FOR YOU JAS, DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!” Was the last thing I heard Marc say before I was pushed into the back seat of a car, the man who was holding me climbing in next to me.

“DRIVE!” He barked at the man up front, clearly agitated and egar to leave the scene.

Want to know why I knew everything was over?

Because John is the one who's in there fighting Marc, he is the one who first grabbed me...my step-dad is back, and he isn't going down without a fight.

*/ HAI GUYS.

I haven't been here for a while, i know, but i have had A LOT of stuff going on with family and such. So much :'( But now, I'M BACK!!! And i have really, really appreciated the private messages and tweets i got during the time i was gone, it made me so happy.I love that i'm getting to know some of you guys as actual friends!!! :D

But also, i don't really appreciate all the comments i got telling me to upload when on the previous chapter, i told you what i was going through. I lost someone very close to me and entering a New Year and turning 18 without this person just keeps hitting me, it's horrible. A lot of things seem pointless, even college work so i'm getting behind in a lot of things. So i hope you understand why Wattpad hasn't been my #1 priority.

BUT, MORBID STUFF OVER. I have turned 18 so i've been out partying, and i have mega amounts of gigs coming up. This makes me happy.
