'Because I'm not who you think I am.' Kept replaying in my head.

I pleaded and prayed that he would let me go, while another part was hoping he wouldn't let go. I wanted to run away but I wanted to see him. I didn't want him to know I stayed and I hear about his life all the time, but I wanted him to see me. And soon I was being turned around, quickly dropping my head.

"Oh...my!" He continues to whisper.

I stand there frozen, my body wasn't working. I wanted to run and keep running and never stop.

"Bryn, I thought you left Charlotte." Chase's voice was suddenly stern.

I obviously still wasn't wanted by Chase. He had probably thought I was some chick he could just have a one night stand with. Erik had told me this is what he had been doing. Going to bars, getting drunk, then going to these random girls places.

"As much as I wanted to, I couldn't leave my real home. Even if you are a jerk and live here, I wasn't leaving." I say my confidence suddenly going from a 0 to 100 real fast.

"Whatever."

I turn back around and head to my office. I reach the door, unlock it and find my way to my desk.

So much for not seeing Chase yet. Luckily you can't see my baby bump to much, especially in this shirt. But that definitely was not the way I wanted to meet back up with him.

*Chase's POV*

"What was that?" I asked myself.

"Hey Chase you good? Looks like you saw a ghost." Kasey asks.

"No, she... she's still here."

"Chase, who are you talking about?"

"Bryn, she's still here."

"What on Earth are you talking about?"

"I... She... She was here and I scared her away."

"I really think you need some rest, you're seeing things or hallucinating."

"No, she was here."

"Chase, Denny said she lives in Virginia now. Why would she be here. Alan said it has been a long day for you. Maybe I should bring you home."

"Yeah I guess so, but when I did see her, I was a total jerk and I hope that isn't actually how I will treat her."

"Come on let's grab our stuff and head to your place. I think that's best."

"Yeah, umm..thanks for the help."

"It's no problem, heard you haven't been getting enough sleep. You need to do something about that."

"I need to see Bryn, actual Bryn."

"Come on, get her off the brain."

I walk to the garage and grab some of my stuff and head to the lobby of the shop and meet Kasey.

"Why don't you join us for dinner? I bet Tanner would love to see you again."

"Yeah I guess so. I love hanging out with Tanner."

With that, Kasey and I hop into his truck and start the drive to his place. I watch as we pass stores and parks. I watch them closely, as if I haven't seen any of it before, but truth is I've probably been to all of those places, with Bryn at least once.

The only noise the whole drive, was the engine of Kasey's truck. Soon we pull onto the gravel driveway, of Kasey and Sammy's house. He parks his truck in front of the garage and cuts the engine.

"Chase, I want you to know, we never picked sides. When you told us about the divorce we weren't mad at you. We understand that it just didn't work out."

"I know, I just felt that you guys would be upset with me for hurting her. You guys have helped with everything. So I thought that by hurting Bryn you guys would get upset by me doing that."

"Well we are a little upset you guys didn't work out, but nothing major, to make us hate you."

"Thank you, I thought you all hated me for driving her away."

"We were just upset that the relationship we all loved broke. But we want you to be better and happy again."

"I don't know why, but I can't be. I pushed her away. I should have worked out those stupid issues with her." And just like that I had a sudden urge to hit something.

"Come on Sammy said she was cooking something good and Tanner was excited to see you."

I put on the best smile I could form and walk through the door to Kasey's house. As soon as I enter you can hear Tanner scream.

"Daddy! Uncle Chase!"

"Hey little man!" I crouch down to his level.

"I've missed you."

"I've missed you too little man."

"Wanna play with me?"

"Why wouldn't I?" I smile.

Tanner grabs my hand and drags me into the living room, and we sit on the floor by the couch. From the door I can see the kitchen across the hall, where I also see Kasey talking to Sammy.

Tanner hands me some toy cars and keeps some for himself. After Tanner tells me about all of his cars, Kasey walks in and sits on the couch.

"Uncle Chase, where's Aunty Bryn and Ava?" Tanner asks not looking up from his little car.

I gulp trying not to cry. Hearing Tanner ask me that question just crushes me even more.

Hey guys! Sorry I have been so lame about updating. Like I said at the end of Just A Dream, it would take a little bit to get this book started. I actually am surprised I've gotten this far. But with soccer coming to an end, meaning play off's and school just getting started with big projects and my fall job, I have had little time to update. So I'm sorry! But here is another one. Plus I've got a little bit of writers block, but by the end of November I hope to start updating better. Hopefully I'll get back into a routine for school and won't have anymore soccer practices until dark. Plus I'm taking a creative writers class, so hopefully that helps(probably won't). But I promise I won't give up on this story, like I did on the second book to Home track Love.
