Chapter 5

"Bryn, I don't know if you should come to work today. I mean if Chase saw you he'll know you're there and want to find you." Will instructs.

"No, I'm not scared of him."

"I know, its just you could have an anxiety attack again and I don't want you harming the baby with one."

"Don't worry about it, I've changed. I take more time."

"Please be careful today. Take it easy, make Kennedy work. You are pregnant."

"No really, I thought I was just becoming really fat." I state sarcastically.

"Whatever. Come on let's go."

I grab my bags and Will grabs some of his stuff and we head out the door to his truck. After I told him about the Chase incident, he thinks I need to be more careful. So he will be my drive to work for a week.

I tried explaining to Will, that Kasey talked to Chase and he told Chase since he hadn't been getting much sleep, that he was just hallucinating. And as badly as I wanted to say "If he stopped hooking up with random girls he wouldn't be hallucinating." I didn't say anything, but a simple thank you.

Soon Will pulls into the back parking lot of Hendrick Motorsports, and parks in the space closest to the long path leading up the side of the building.

"I'm serious, please be careful. If that's the way Chase treated you, you don't need to be running the halls for him to easily find you."

"I know, only if there becomes an important meeting, then I will go straight to the meeting room. Thanks dad."

"I just want you and the baby to be safe."

"I know, and I am truly happy about that."

We both exit the truck and walk the path to the door leading to my office. I unlock it and turn on the lights as we walk in.

"Ok, well I got to go to the garage. You stay here. I'll see ya later."

"Bye, have fun."

"Oh yeah I will."

Will walks out the door and Kennedy walks in the back door.

"Good morning. I heard Will was bringing you so I got you a frappuccino."

"Awe thank you!"

I sip the mocha frappuccino she handed me. And I sit at my desk and start up my computer.

"So how are you this morning after yesterdays events?"

"Kasey called me, said he talked Chase into believing it was just something his head wanted him to see. Also said went to their house to have diner, and Tanner made him feel bad by asking questions about me."

"Well he should start feeling bad, letting such a great girl like you go. Especially after getting you pregnant. "

"Well, he actually doesn't know I'm pregnant. I found out after we finalized the divorce. I thought all the sickness was from being scared and such, but then I decided to go to the doctors because it continued."

"So he doesn't know?"

"Nope."

"Well, I mean...."

"You mean what?"

"Never mind."

"Ok, but just to let you know Will set ground rules for me."

"That doesn't surprise me. Anything to keep his best friend and their baby healthy and happy."

"Well I'm not to leave unless it is really important."

"Ok, that's fine."

Kennedy walks over to her desk and sits. We both start our days work quietly, soon I get bored of the quiet and turn on some music.

*Chase's POV*

"Good morning Chase! How'd ya sleep last night?" Kasey greets.

"Best night of sleep in a while actually."

"Well that's good. Do you mind going to the storage closet, all the way down that hallway, and getting some things?"

"Yeah I guess. What type of things?"

"All here on this list. Thanks Chase, and if you could just bring them to the meeting room."

I walk down the hallway he pointed and heard music playing once I got closer to the end of the hall. I pass a door and it sounds like its coming from inside.

I knock a few times and then suddenly the music stops. About a minute later Kennedy opens the door and walks into the hallway.

"Hey what are you doing?" I question.

"Um cleaning this place up."

"What is this room?"

"Just an old office space."

"Why are you cleaning it?"

"Mr. Hendrick wants some big project in it."

"Oh, well I'll be going back and forth for a bit. Have to get some things from the spare closet."

"Ok, well I'll let you go collect things and I'll go clean." She smiles.

Before I can answer she goes back into the room and the door clicks.

I finish walking down the hallway and find the door to the storage space.

*An hour later*

"And thats the last thing." I say packing another diecast into a box

I have been finding things like old diecast, posters, and other things like that. But I don't even know why I'm finding all these things.

I grab the box that I just filled and bring it to the meeting room. As I'm walking around the corner I saw, what looked like Bryn in my hallucination. She grabs the door handle to the meeting room and walks in.

I walk to they door and also open it, revealing Mr. Hendrick and that girl, it actually is Bryn.

"Uhh Bryn, so we had Chase...." Mr. Hendrick starts.

"It is you." I say setting the box down."

"I need to leave." She states.

She quickly walks out the door and down the hall.

"Wait up." I yell down the hall.

"Bryn please. I know you don't want to talk to me, but I need to talk to you."

"No, I've got to go."

"Please." I say catching up and grabbing her shoulder.

"Please let me go." She cries.

"I just want to talk."

"I ca...."

All of the sudden Bryn falls to the ground.

"Bryn? Bryn, what are you doing. Bryn get up. Bryn?" I get louder as I try to figure out what's happening .

"What did you do?" Will yells.

"Nothing, I just wanted to talk."
