"Hey Bryn. I got your message what was it you wanted to talk about?" John Hunter asks walking into my in home office.
After a long conversation with Chase and then Will and Erik, I had decided that I was going to work things out with Chase so everything could work out. I'm going to move back in with him after the race this weekend. And we're just going to try and make things as close to as normal as it was. But there was one thing that stood in our way before Chase and I could try and be a couple again. And that one thing was John Hunter.
"Hey JH." I smile warmly. "Why don't you sit down."
He nods and sits in the chair giving me a confused glance.
"JH I love you." He smiles at that. "But not anymore than a love for a friend." He still continues to smile.
"I'm ok with that Bryn. Go ahead, I know what's coming."
Now it was my turn to give him a confused glance.
"Chase and I talked today, we want to try and work things out. But I want us to stay friends."
"Me too Bryn. Don't get me wrong I love you, but I didn't like our relationship. It just felt like our friendship but with a few opened doors to kissing." JH chuckles.
"I'm so glad your ok with this. And I'm glad we can stay friends."
"Why wouldn't I be. I want you to be happy and I'm not going to stand in your way for that." JH gets up and comes to where I'm sitting and lays a kiss on my forehead. "But you better continue to cheer me on at races."
"Of course, why wouldn't I?"
John Hunter and I finish up our conversation and then he leaves to go home and I wait for Chase. I hadn't told Chase my final answer yet. I told him I wanted a bit of time to think. And I've had enough time. I know he learned a lot from our, as he'd call it 'short break'. And I love Chase, and Ava loves Chase, and our babies will love Chase. And Chase loves all of us. I know we can work this out if we're even more open with each other than we were before, which we were pretty open with each other.
Will asked if I was scared to go back to Chase, but I'm not. I love Chase and he loves me. It feels right to go back to him. It always felt right to stand next to him before a race and pray together or sing along to the national anthem with him, even though we are both awful singers. It felt right to sleep next to him in the same bed. It felt right to take random drives on back roads laughing at each other. It feels right to be with Chase.
A knock sounds at the door and Will answers it.
"She's in her office. Follow me." I hear Will instruct.
Soon the two men are in the door of my office. I smile at both of them and Will nods his head before walking back into the living room to resume whatever he was doing with Erik and Ava.
"Hey." Chase smiles.
"Hi."
"So you wanted to talk?"
"Yeah I did. I told you we couldn't try to work things out until I talked to John Hunter and I did. He's perfectly fine with just being friends, he's actually happy about us working things out."
"So does that mean we can work things out again. I know it won't mean we'll be husband and wife right away. But I want to work towards it again."
"Yes it means we can work it out." I smile at him.
He jumps up from the chair he was sitting in and wraps me in a hug.
"So now that we've decided on that, who else knows your carrying twins?" He asks.
"You, me, and my doctor." I laugh.
"Not many people know that you're even pregnant, right? We should do something so all our family and friends will know."
"Something we can just post on twitter or something?"
"Yeah, we can do something after the race this weekend. So if I win we can announce it in victory lane but if I don't win we can just post something on twitter."
"That sounds great Chase."
We talk a little more and then he goes back to his, I mean our house. He says good bye to Ava before he leaves and then gives me a hug before he leaves.
"So?" Erik asks.
"We're going to work things out. I'll move back in with him Monday. Find out the gender Tuesday. And Wednesday I'll start planning for the gender reveal." I smile at my two best friends. "Ava it's time for bed we have a flight in the morning."
She gets up form the spot on the couch in between Erik and Will and follows me up stairs.
"What does work things out mean?" Ava questions as we walk into her room.
"It means Chase and I are going to go over our problems and fix them. So we can live together and be happy with you and our babies."
"So we get to live with him again."
"Yep, were moving back in Monday after the race this weekend."
Ava asks me some questions about when Chase and I met, but I'm pretty sure Chase and I together have told her these things more than 10 times. I kiss her good night and find the two guys in the same spots.
"If anything goes wrong, we are here to help you. We want what's best for you and Chase is obviously that person and your the best for Chase."
"I think we can work this out. My love for Chase is still as strong as when we got married."
"Then we'll help. When you need a date night with Chase we'll babysit."
"When you need some help when the baby is born, we'll be there in ten."
"When you don't feel like cooking, we'll bring something. Because us making food probably isn't going to help anything."
I laugh as they continue on what they will do to help Chase and I.
"Ok I get it." I laugh harder as the two fighter over what one gets to change the babies diaper.
"We just want to make sure your safe and happy."
"I was always happy with Chase. But I'm also happy to have two best friends like you guys. I'm going to bed we have an early flight in the morning." I tell the guys.
They say good night and turn to the TV. I walk up stairs and change into a pair of shorts and a large shirt.
I know that everything's going to be ok. Chase never meant to hurt me and we love each other. He's going to help take care of our kids and we'll be able to grow old together. This was just a bump on the race track that sent us for a spin. But we'll bring the car down pit road and fix it up and send it back out to go and win the race. Because our love is just like a race, we're going to have our fights and our adventures. But we'll get through it because we love each other.
