Chapter 10

"Oh no. He's coming over and she's following." John-Hunter complains.

"Bryn, Sammy, would you mind joining me in the kitchen to get some drinks?" Amy asks.

"I think we'd love to." Sammy answers.

We both get up and follow her inside to the kitchen. She opens the fridge and pulls out a bunch of drinks while Sammy gets a large dish, and I get ice. We fill the dish with ice and then put the drinks in.

I was standing at the island as Sammy and Amy pulled other foods from the cabinets. I was told to sit still, as I was pregnant.

"Hey Bryn."

"Oh my gosh." I jump.

I turn around to see Chase.

"Ch..Chase."

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry about yesterday. I just wanted to ask how you and Ava were doing. I didn't know what got into me to do that. I didn't know that would happen to you. I'm sorry again. And like I said I'll leave your new little family alone."

Then he walked back out the sliding glass door leading to the backyard.

"What was that?" Sammy asks.

"He apologized." I say astonished.

"What did he mean by "like I said I'll leave your little family alone"?"

"Somehow, he I guess, found out about me and JH and the baby."

"And thinks you hooked up with JH and the kid is his."

"I guess so."

"I don't even understand why Dale invited that boy?" Amy questions.

I look back out the door and Chase was talking to Will and John-Hunter.

"I might have asked Dale to invite him."

"Why, he just caused your body to shut down on you."

"I got a note with my favorite flowers from him while at the hospital. I still have the note, in my pocket to be exact. Because as much as I want to move on I keep coming back."

"As much as you wanna let go, you can't."

"No, he was my first true love. Never felt that way with anyone. Just feel like I'm leading John-Hunter on. But then I feel like I need to move on and John-Hunter is the right guy for me."

"You don't know who to chose. After seeing Chase again you're confused. But you don't want to admit anything yet."

"Pretty much." I look back out the door and see John -Hunter in a chair playing with Ava. "I'm going to sit with John-Hunter, anything I can bring out?"

"No, be careful. We'll be out in a bit."

I walk out the slide and glass door, while looking out at the yard. Erik, Reed, Will, JH, and Ava sit in the chairs. At the grill Dale continues to stand with Kasey, who is holding Tanner now, as well as Chase and the blonde bimbo holding on to his arm.

"Hey, how was helping Amy and Sammy."

"It was fine, those two are just funny trying to help each other."

"Yeah I saw." JH starts.

"You also saw Chase."

"Yeah."

"Don't worry. He just apologized for yesterday."

"Good!"

John-Hunter grabs my hips sitting me down on his lap in the chair, and then pulls my head towards him.
