"Do you need any help?" Chase asked for what seemed to be like the 10th time in the last 5 minutes.
I'm 7 months pregnant with twins, there was somethings I needed help with and then there were things people felt I needed help with. And Chase right now thought I needed help making dinner.
"Chase I'm fine. I'm all set. But if it will help you, feel free to sit at the island and talk to me."
"Fine." He sighs.
He pulls out a seat at the island and watches me make our dinner. I was currently making a baked BBQ chicken with steamed broccoli and I've been making this meal since I was 12, so I was perfectly capable of making it 7 months pregnant.
"I love you." Chase randomly states.
"I love you too Chase." I chuckle.
"You're head strong. You can take care of yourself, even if you are 7 months pregnant with twins. I'm so happy we could work through my problems." This was a normal for me. Chase would say he loves me then complement me and then bring up the fact that we were able to work through his problems.
"Chase you can stop saying that."
"What that I'm happy we could work through our problems?"
"Yes, you say it at least 3 times a day every day. It's in the past. I love you and that's all that matters."
"You're right, I love you too. I always will." I smile at my wonderful husband. We got the divorce switched back a couple weeks ago. (I know it probably doesn't work this way but we're gonna say it does).
I return to my cooking and sing along to whatever song was playing.
"Can Ryan come eat with us?" Chase questions.
"Let me guess he's in the driveway."
"Yeah."
"Tell him no."
"I just sent it."
About a minute later the doorbell rings.
"Door." Ava yells from the family room.
"Yeah just leave it." I yell back.
"Ok?"
With two more rings of the doorbell, Ryan barges into the house.
"I know y'all are home." Ryan yells.
"That's why you didn't want to open the door." Ava giggles.
"Really?" Ryan questions walking into the kitchen.
"Sorry Ryan wasn't me." Chase says.
"Sorry Ryan it was me."
"Why?" He pouts.
"You need to start feeding yourself and stop coming here 2 minutes before we start eating."
"But I love your cooking."
"I'm surprised you haven't moved in yet." Chase chuckles.
"I can if it means I can eat here."
"Ryan, you can come a few times but not every night. I'll let you tonight but you're taking us all for ice cream."
"That's fine." He agrees high-fiving Chase.
Ryan sits at the island with Chase and talk about the upcoming race this weekend, while I finish up cooking. I call everyone to the table and plate everyone's food.
"Mhmm, this is amazing as always Bryn." Ryan mumbles.
"Complimenting my food is not going to help your case of coming over to dinner every night."
