After a few minutes of talking (and laughing) with the boys, Mark texts me saying that he's here. I texted him, saying that I knew already about the "date" so he wouldn't have to be so awkward about it. When Jeno and I came back, Haechan asked us what we did, and Jeno told him that we were just "talking". Meanwhile, Jaemin is still gloomy.
"Hi." Mark says. He gets out from the car.
"Hi. Who's driving??" I try to look inside and notice a man in a suit. Is an Staff member seriously driving us to a bubbletea store?
"My hyung Lee sung. Come on. Sit beside me in the backseat."
"Please don't call me that ever again" Lee sung says. I want to laugh but, in this situation I don't know if I can.
Jaemin's POV
Why did I even think I had a chance with her? I knew Mark couldn't have invited a "childhood friend" over to work for Sm. Whatever.. It was only a small crush but, I really couldn't stop staring at her that day at the amusement park. And to think that she has so much talent to write poems and songs at a young age... Ugh. I can't help but ask Jeno about her and Mark.
"Jeno," I start. No one else is here in our dorm but us.
"Yeah?" He looks up.
"I just wanted to ask~"
Why am I so nervous? ㅠㅠ ..
"Is something going on between Mark and Lily? Sorry, I hate being nosy, but...."
"It's alright." He smiles.
Jeno's smile is so pretty, no wonder all the Noonas are into him.
"I'm only telling you because you saw it too that day. I think Mark likes her. They're going on a 'date' right now."
"So, are they really dating?"
Crap.. I didn't think before I said that.....
Jeno looks shocked, then he laughs.
"I don't know about that haha... But, she's as surprised as I am. Who knows. As long the fans don't find out and cyberbully her."
I have a feeling that I should tell Jeno but, it isn't a big deal. I don't know her well enough to like her like that. Especially when, she technically has a boyfriend now. Maybe her looks tricked me into thinking that she's more than a regular girl.
LILYS POV
When we arrive to the bubbletea café, Lee sung tells us that he'll wait in the car, and we enter.
"So, what do you want? I'll pay." Mark takes out his wallet, and I sigh.
"Chocolate." I look at the menu.
"Ah, my favourite's Taro. I don't think I've told you that until now."
Why does this feel so weird to me?
I've never thought I'd be going on a date with Mark. Sure, once we joked about marrying each other but that was years ago.
A few minutes pass by and we're both silent.
"Okay, here's your drinks!!" The lady gives us our boba.
"Okay. Do you want to sit there?" Mark points to the table closest to us.
"Sure.." We take a seat.
"You know, Lily, I never knew we would be here on a date. I mean, my mom wanted to take us but we never got the chance. But, I don't want to tell her about us. I-if, we're even official. I mean like, I don't mean it like tha-"
"Mark. Calm down." I laugh a little. He's so crazy.
"Oh, sorry."
More silence.
"Um.. So what did you do today?"
He asks.
"I just talked. To Jeno."
"About??"
"The day we went on the amusement park. Jeno was really excited to ride all the rides."
Ride all the rides, what a weird thing to say, when I think about it.
"Yeah.. That was a fun day." He drinks the bubbletea.
"...I didn't know if we would share a drink but, I didn't really want chocolate and I thought that would be too extra." Mark coughs after saying that. I already know it's fake, but I don't mind. Jheez, has anyone taught him to flirt? Actually, no. I'm thankful he doesn't know.
Maybe he doesn't like me.. maybe.
"Yeah." I reply.
More silence.
"Lily, you hate this don't you?"
My eyes widen.
"No, this is nice! I love bubble-"
"Yeah but, you hate the idea. Of us dating. You don't like me like that, am I right?"
I don't say anything.
"I knew it..." He mumbled.
"It's just.." I began.
"A lot is on my mind right now." I smile.
"Ok. I'm sorry that I held your-"
"It's fine Mark. Really."
He stops talking and becomes more of himself. His calm self, I mean.
We finish our drinks. Mark opens the door for us, and Lee's still there. I don't think we stayed for awhile, but I still feel bad that he had to wait.
"Did you guys have fun?" He asks, adjusting the mirror.
"Yea..." We both say.
My phone starts to buzz.
