I've never been to a meet & greet, I have no idea what happens so I basically made this up as I went along.
'I'm gonna need to go to the doctor.' Demi says as she sits on the counter watching Nick make pancakes.
'Why? Is something wrong?' He asks and she shakes her head.
'No... I'll need to get the pregnancy confirmed and they might want to double check my meds and things.' She replies smiling.
'Will your meds be okay? Will you have to come off them?' He asks.
'I don't think so... They changed them when Willow was born so I could breastfeed her so I think they're pregnancy friendly but I suppose it's different for everyone. I can't come off my meds, Nick. That would be a disaster.' She replies.
'Why don't you phone and see if you can get an appointment today?' He suggests.
'It's too late... They won't have any appointments left, I'll phone tomorrow.' She says and he nods his head. He piles the pancakes on a plate before making his way over to her.
'Okay. How are you feeling about this? I know this wasn't what you wanted.' He asks as she places her hands on his shoulders.
'Fine. I mean it was a shock but there are worse things that could happen, right? I don't think I want to do the whole music and touring thing anymore... Not for a few years anyway.' She replies shrugging her shoulders.
'Are you sure? That's a big decision to make?' He asks.
'I've been thinking about it ever since I went back to work. I hate leaving her Nick and I don't want to leave two of them.' She replies.
'Okay. If that's what you want then of course I'll support you. I just don't want you to make any decision you'll regret.' He says.
'I know. I'll think about it more before I make anything official.' She replies.
'That sounds good now why don't you go sit down and I'll bring breakfast over?' He suggests and she nods her head.
______
'Do you wonder what our lives would be like if we weren't singing?' Demi asks glancing at Nick as they finally make their way into the venue.
'What do you mean?' He asks.
'Like if we weren't famous and we weren't doing this. If we didn't have people constantly following us... Do you every wonder what it would be like?' She asks leaning forward and catching Willow's pacifier before she throws it.
'Well I'm not sure we would've met if we weren't doing this? I mean imagine you hadn't auditioned for Jonas or Camp Rock. We'd probably never have met.' He replies.
'Oh we would've met somehow.' She says shrugging her shoulders.
'And what makes you so sure of that?' He asks.
'I don't know. I just know you're meant to be in my life and we would've met.' She replies.
'Maybe we would've... I've been thinking, do you want to get a house together?' He asks.
'We already live together, Nick.' She replies smiling.
'I know but obviously with this little one coming along we could probably use a bigger house so I was thinking we could get one in both our names.' He says.
'Okay.' She replies.
'I mean we don't have to... It was just a thought.' He says.
'No, I think it's a great idea. I'm sorry... I need-' She mumbles before covering her mouth and sprinting off in the direction of the nearest bathroom. He takes hold of the stroller handle and turns to make his way towards the bathroom.
'Everything okay?' A voice asks and Nick turns around to see Joe walking towards him.
'Demi's sick... Can you watch Willow for a minute?' Nick asks and Joe nods his head. He watches his brother turn and quickly make his way into the bathroom before turning his attention to Willow.
'Hello, pretty lady... Uncle Joe missed you.' He says leaning down to talk to the little girl.
____
'Hey...' Nick says as he finds Demi leaning on the sink in the bathroom.
'Hi.' She replies quietly as he places his hand on her lower back.
'You okay?' He asks and she nods her head.
'Mmm... I wasn't sick, I thought I was going to be but I wasn't.' She replies turning round to face him.
'You're as white as a sheet, Dems... Maybe you should just go home and rest.' He says and she leans her head against his chest.
'No. I want to stay... I'm okay, honestly. Where's Willow?' She asks.
'With Joe. He arrived just as you sprinted here.' He replies wrapping his arms around her.
'She loves her Uncle Joe.' She says and he smiles.
'That's because he spoils her.' He replies running his hands down her back.
'When do you need to start?' She asks and he glances at his watch.
'Ten minutes... We should get back out there.' He replies and she nods her head.
'Let's go.' She says.
_____
'Let's make it last a little while. I pointed to the sky and now you want to fly. I am your biggest fan, I hope you know I am. But do you think you can somehow, slow down?'
Demi gently rocks Willow from side to side as she softly sings. Nick's off doing his meet and greet with Joe who decided to tag along; he'd said she could go along as well but Marissa will be here soon and Willow needs a nap so she opted to stay behind.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
'Hey, Demi...' Marissa says making her way into the dressing room.
'Hi.' Demi replies quietly. She glances down at Willow who is finally sleeping peacefully in her arms.
'You okay? You're pretty pale.' Marissa says and Demi smiles weakly.
'I'm fine.' Demi replies biting her bottom lip as she runs her free hand across her stomach.
'Demi? What's wrong?' Marissa asks.
'I'm cramping... I have been for the last half an hour but I just didn't want to disturb Nick's meet and greet.' Demi replies quietly.
