Mika and Ara patched things up a few days later. Mika said Ara apologized for her behavior and she forgave her after saying that they should just forget what happened.

Of course, it bothered her that Mika easily forgave Ara. Mika said Ara was her best friend and that she, Alyssa, has nothing to worry about because they were JUST best friends.

Oh, please. Ara basically confessed to Mika. There was no way in hell they were just best friends. Not for Ara, at least.

But Mika, being a very stubborn woman (that she loves), kept saying that Ara was just like what Den was to her - a very important person in her life she can't just set aside.

She understood that really. If Den tells her she was in love with her, although that is not likely to happen, she will not stay away from Den.

No matter how much she explains to Mika that while she does understand that, the truth remains that Ara has romantic feelings for her and that Ara's every action from then on would be laced with a more than friendly affection. Mika's counter argument was that even though Den did not confess to her, she felt like Den likes her romantically, too. So, really, she was jealous because she has a reason and Mika was jealous just because she was the more jealous one in the relationship.

Mika also argued that if and when Ara starts making her uncomfortable again, she would at least do something about it; unlike her who wouldn't do anything even if Den becomes too sweet and too clingy.

They were at a stalemate.

But because they don't like being jealous, they both agreed to just say whatever was happening between them and Ara and Den. That way, they didn't have to overthink and be more jealous and anxious more than they already were. Plus, Mika, in her attempt to assure her, became sweeter and clingier. Just imagine how lucky she damn was.

So, yeah, she just ignored most of Mika's and Ara's interaction. And Mika stayed a lot beside her even during practice especially since when their teammates ganged up on Mika, she was the one who took Mika's side and acted like a mediator.

Soon, everyone became used to sweet gestures exchanged between them. Like wiping each other's sweat off after practice, sharing each other's drink, or Mika putting an arm around her or laying her head on her shoulder.

She wanted to do the same and she does but mostly when Den was not looking. Den was also the jealous type even with friends so Den also became clingy, even more clingy, to be honest. And when Den was jealous, Den was scary and she would rather not have a taste of her best friend's wrath. But when Den was clingy, Mika was jealous and she definitely was at the end of Mika's wrath more times than she could count. But she didn't mind because it gave her more reason to make it up to Mika and be maharot.

Yes, they got into a lot of arguments and had a lot of jealous fits exchanged between them but at the end of the day, they couldn't stay mad at each other.

They always, always made it through.

She was sitting down on the bed with her computer on her lap while Mika was getting ready for her sleepover with Jessey.

So, yeah, no babe time that night but she did have to get some work done so she would live through it.

"Babe, I told my family you're coming with me tomorrow for lunch," Mika said while she was putting on her earrings.

She froze. What? What? She must have heard it wrong, right?

"W-what?" she stuttered.

Mika looked at her and smiled shyly before sitting down on the edge of the bed beside her.
