Chapter 3

"Wake up!" my best friend screeched to my ear that Saturday morning, while she jumped up and down my bed. I don't have work today which is why I plan to sleep till the afternoon, but Joey won't let me.

I groaned and kicked her legs making her fall off the bed. When I heard the thud, I sighed in satisfaction as I tried to get back to sleep.

"Skyler!" She whined "You said we're going furniture shopping for our rooms today"

I opened my right eye to look at her "When did I say that?" I know I said it the day we moved in, I only pretended to forget just to annoy her.

She rolled her eyes at me, before going out my room. Finally! Some peace.

I was already half way to dream world when I heard a loud honk that made me jump out of bed "I'm up! I'm up!" I grumbled, glaring at my best friend who was holding an air horn. I should have known she wasn't going to give up that easily.

She smiled wickedly at me before walking out my room "I knew this would come in handy" I heard her mutter to herself.

I sighed heavily before fixing my bed. I looked around my room thinking of what things to get. Study table and chair, bedside tables, drawers, and a vanity table, because I've always wanted one. I thought about getting a television in my room but decided against it because I'll rarely use it anyway.

When I was finished listing down the things that I'm going to buy, I started getting ready. I took a quick shower and got dressed in a white loose shirt and some ripped jeans. I dried my hair with my hair dryer and put light makeup on, like powder, mascara, and light lipstick. I hate going overboard with makeup, I prefer the natural look.

I walked out to the living room where Joey was on her phone playing piano tiles. I grinned evilly before I made my way to her and pressed a tile that wasn't supposed to be pressed.

She gasped and slapped my arm while I just laughed. That's what she gets after ruining my beautiful slumber!

"Let's go so we can come home early" I told her, ignoring her complaints about her game.

She sighed before putting her phone away.

We got out of our apartment and got an uber car to take us to the mall. Joey insisted we go to the mall instead of Home Depot, which I think is stupid because it's more logical to go to Home Depot because in the mall we're not even sure if they have everything we need there. But I really can't argue with her, she's thick headed so I just go with the flow with her.

"List down the things you need here so we won't forget anything" Joey told me, handing me a piece of a paper that had everything that she needed on it. We were already at the part of the mall where they sell furniture.

I was writing while we were walking, which is probably a bad idea. Joey kept on stopping from time to time to check out some stuff and when she does I just stop in the middle of the aisle.

"Do I need more bed sheets?" I whispered to myself.

My thoughts of walking while writing being a bad idea was true, because all of a sudden, I heard someone laugh wickedly, the voice sounding awfully familiar, then felt someone bump into me real hard causing me to fall on my butt.
