"Love her, but leave her wild."

-Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird

Chapter 6

The next morning, Joey made eggs benedict for breakfast. Joey was a great cook, which is why I ate the eggs like there was no tomorrow.

"Slow down, would yah? Or else you might choke" Joey scolded as she drank her coffee while texting. From the smile that was practically permanent on her face, I'd say she was talking to Cole.

"Could you please teach me how to cook?" I swallowed the last piece and drank water. That was a good breakfast.

"And watch you burn down the kitchen? I don't think so" she said raising an eyebrow at me.

"You're over reacting" I rolled my eyes at her.

She laughed before getting up from her seat and washing her dirty plate. I'll show her. I'm going to cook tonight. I don't need her, I can just look at cooking tutorials on youtube. Lasagna seems easy, and I remember Joey saying she was going to make lasagna sometime this week, so I'm sure I have all the ingredients in the pantry.

"Earth to Skyler" I snapped out of my thoughts as Joey snapped her fingers in front of me.

"What were you saying?" I blinked at her.

"I was asking if you've decided what you would be taking up in college" she said as she placed the plate she just washed away. She then took a seat at her former spot, beside me.

"I'm still not sure if I want to be a doctor or a lawyer" I shrugged. I've always wanted to be a doctor, a pediatrician to be exact. But as I grew up, I got amazed by how mom does her work and I thought that maybe I could take over mom's firm one day.

"Cole also wants to be a lawyer, he said when Tyler starts up his own company, he'd become the company lawyer"

"So Tyler's into business" I mumbled, to myself really.

I noticed Joey smirk at me.

"What?" I asked her. Wondering what she found that was worth smirking about.

"So how are you and Tyler" Oh so that was it.

"We're friends" I said with a serious tone. So the teasing hasn't stopped.

She just wiggled her eyebrows, clearly not believing me "So what did you guys do when you left us yesterday"

"Not what you guys did, that's for sure" She blushed at that "we just went to a bookstore"

She sighed, no more teasing look on her face "You guys are boring"

I scoffed "Sorry because like I said before, we are just friends" I said with finality in my tone.

"Whatever you say" she said, getting up from her seat. She was on her way to her room when she stopped and looked back at me "I really think Tyler is way better than Andrew, I'm just saying" she winked at me before going in her room.

You can't compare the two, really. They have different personalities. Andrew is the serious type. He was sweet with me most of the time, but whenever we fight he goes hulk on me, that's why I stopped doing things that made him mad. And he was absolutely possessive. I had quite a lot of guy friends before we started dating, and he made me stay away from them. I don't know why I agreed to him since he himself had a lot of friends that were girls. It's funny how I'm only realizing his negative points now. Tyler on the other hand, is the happy type though he had his quiet and serious moments, but he just needs time to himself and after that he'll be smiling again. He's always calm about things and sees the bright side of everything. I wish I had his outlook in life.
