"Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are."
— Mark Zusak, I am the Messenger
Chapter 5
More than eight hours of sleep. Yessss! I didn't have work today and for some reason Joey didn't wake me up, which is weird because she likes ruining my sweet slumber. Oh well she must be busy.
I kept my eyes closed. Loving the peace and quiet, not thinking about anything in particular, allowing sleep to come over me aga-
CRASH!!!
What the hell?! That made me sit up. I rubbed my eyes, removing dust that the sand man might have left behind.
I got up from bed and went to Joey's room, where the crash seemed to have come from.
I found Joey sitting on the floor of her closet, shoes scattered around her.
"What are you doing?" I asked her slowly.
"I tripped on one of my shoes" she explained, getting up and brushing herself off.
I sighed "You should clean your closet, this place is a death trap" I eyed her things. Shoes were all over the floor, her belts, and bags as well. Some of her clothes also fell from the hanger, and her drawers were open with the underwear hanging out.
She picked up a pair of flats on the floor and examined them "I don't have time. Cole is coming over"
I smirked at her and crossed my arms over my chest "So you have a date"
"It's not a date. We're just going to hang out" She stated as if it were a fact. She looked satisfied with the flats and walked out of her closet, closing the door to hell behind her. "You should get ready too. Cole said Tyler might tag along"
That made me frown. What does that have anything to do with me? "I think I'll pass"
"Suit yourself" She said before heading to the bathroom.
I was on my may back to my room when a knock came on our door. "Could you get that?" Joey yelled. I sighed and looked at the mirror first, to see if I was somehow presentable, I was wearing my favorite cow print pajamas. I ran my fingers through my hair to get the tangles out as I walked to the door.
"Hey!" Cole greeted. Tyler was beside him looking cool as usual as he just smiled at me.
"Hey guys come in" I told them, opening the door wider for them.
"Nice pajamas" Tyler commented as they walked in.
"Thank you. I know I look cute" I told him with a grin.
They snickered at that as they sat on the sofa. It's true. I look adorable really in my pajamas! "Joey's in the bathroom getting ready" I said, mostly to Cole.
"You're not getting ready yet?" he asked me.
I shook my head "I actually plan on staying in bed the whole day"
"You're going to leave me to third wheel?" Tyler frowned at me.
I chuckled "Hey, you're the one who came with him knowing they were going on a date" I told him with a smirk.
He shrugged "I thought you were going as well and wanted to hang out with you outside the coffee shop"
I blushed at his answer. Why would he want to hang out with me? Is he also like this with Dina? Or Steve?
