Love You Too

Evie looked up at Mal with her sad brown eyes slowly leaking tears down her fragile cheeks. Her bottom lip slowly quivered as if she was about to break down. "Evie" Mal said again slowly making her way towards Evie to take the pills away.

Evie gulped to herself as Mal made her way closer and closer to her. Mal reached to take the pill bottle out Evie's shaking hands, but to Mal's shock Evie slapped her hand away and said "please just let me die"

"Evie, I will not let you die" Mal said trying to get the bottle again.

Evie moved away from Mal trying to get out of her reach. Evie was about to take some pills, but Mal jumped near Evie fighting her for the open bottle. Mal held the bottle tightly as she continued to fight Evie for it. "Let go, Evie!" Mal said.

"I can't" Evie cried.

Then Mal yanked it out of Evie's hands and the pills went flying everywhere. Evie tried to grab them, but Mal held her back.

"Let me go" Evie cried trying to get to where the majority of the pills landed.

"No, Evie, I need you to stay with me please" Mal said holding her tightly.

Evie cried and said "I can't, please Mal let me go. If you really want me to be happy you'd let me go and let me die."

Mal started to have tears  roll down her cheeks and said "Evie I can't please calm down I need you in my life"

Evie now just gave up and cried. Mal held we close to her and rubbed her back.

About five minutes Evie was still crying and Mal decided to text Jay.

M: Jay you should come here like right now

J: why is everything ok

M: well not exactly... I caught Evie trying to kill herself

J: what!? I'll be there as soon as I can

M: ok hurry and when you get here pick up the pills from the floor and hide them like as soon as get them go put them somewhere away from our dorm like that one garbage a couple doors down

J: ok I'm on my way

Mal sighed as she waited for Jay. Evie had calmed down, but every once in a while she was still trying to get up.

Jay came in and Mal looked at him as if to say hurry. Jay nodded and quickly grabbed all the pills and threw them away outside. He came back in and sat next to Mal. Mal handed Evie to Jay knowing he could do better at making Evie feel good about herself.

Jay held Evie close to him crying softly all he could think about was almost losing her. Jay kissed her head and whispered "you were doing so good, Evie. I could tell you were getting better and stronger what happened?"

Evie whispered " Chad's friends bullied me during first period I thought about telling you, but I decided not to. I wanted to take matters into my own hands. Jay, I cut again it made me feel better and then I decided even though it wasn't that bad. And not as bad as it used to be I didn't want to experience pain again I just wanted to die. I still want to die, Jay. Why won't you let me die." Evie began to cry again.

"Oh Evie" Jay said and held her close "please don't kill yourself I need you"

Evie cried and nodded unsure how to not want to kill herself anymore or do it in general.

"I love you" Jay whispered and kissed her head.

"Love you too" Evie said quietly.

Jay held her closer to him and stood up to get to the other end of the bed so he could lay down with her.

He sat on bed slowly lowering himself to the pillow still holding tightly onto Evie. Jay slowly sang "You are my Sunshine" to her. A couple minutes later Evie fell asleep with tears stained cheeks and arms tightly cuddled into Jay.

Jay thought I am never letting her go to school again. And he kissed her head.

A couple minutes later Jay fell asleep.

Mal smiled and got into her bed, but then Carlos came in and said "is everything ok? Jay left really fast"

Mal sighed and said "I'm not sure if everything is ok. Evie tried to kill herself"

"Oh" Carlos spoke softly.

Mal nodded and said "I hope she'll be ok"

Carlos said "me too"

"Well we've better get some sleep. I have a feeling tomorrow might be a long day" Mal said

Carlos nodded and said "good night"

"Good Night" Mal said as Carlos left and she laid down on her soft pillow and fell asleep.
