Finding "memories"

"Jay?" A weak voice said.

Jay looked up at Evie, her eyes were barely open, but they were open slightly. "Evie? Her eyelids fluttered open up slightly more. "Evie! " Jay said jumping up from his chair. He had tears rolling down his cheeks, but he didn't care his princess,  the one he had a crush on since forever, was now conscience and said a word. And that word just happened to be his name! 

Evie had a small smirk on her face. For once in what felt like forever she was excited to see her friend and actually felt like smiling, or a smirk(but you couldn't blame her she just woke up and was still very weak.) She was excited to see that Jay might actually care about her, but where was Mal and Carlos? " hey" Jay said gaining his sanity " how you feeling". In all honesty Evie felt like pouring her heart, but she couldn't I mean she just wasn't sure. So she just answered in her strongest voice she could manage right now " better I guess" 

Jay could tell she looked tired right now, and was probably confuse, but no matter how much he wanted to talk to her right now, but he knew she needed rest. " Hey why don't you get some rest, you looked tired." Truth was she looked miserable, but he just didn't want to say that.

"Okay" Evie said quietly sinking into her bed. One million thoughts go through her head like " does jay just want to get rid of me" or " does he actually care?" " but only if you stay" she finished.

Jay smiled and sat down again " of course princess"

Jay did keep his word and stayed with her, but just five minutes ago a nurse kicked him out saying visiting hours were over. And as soon as he left he felt he should have told her that she woke up for awhile. So he turned around and went to the front desk and told the nurse that Evie had woken up for about five minutes. She thanked him and he left, but first he checked his phone and got texts saying that they went to dinner or at least forced to and saying that they told Carlos about Evie. 

As he was walking to Mal and Evie's dorm he thought of something what if Evie wakes up? He knew Evie did not like being by herself surrounded by people she didn't know. Or what if she thinks he left her purposely. All he hoped she wouldn't freak out. The last thing she needed was a high blood pressure. 

As soon as Jay got to the dorm he saw Mal looking at something "Jay" she said excitedly " look at this" Jay walked over and saw a picture of him and Evie on the Isle about both being 5 and hugging eachother.Jay took the picture from Mal and looked at carefully trying to remember that day.

Evie had try to do her own makeup today, but according to her mother she failed miserably and said it made her look even more ugly then she was without makeup. So Evie sat with sadness etched on her face as her mother redid her make up. 

After her mother was finished she decided to go outside she felt a tear slowly trickle down her face am I really ugly she thought as more tears fell down her cheeks. She felt a hand grab her arm she whimpered as she got pulled into an alley. She saw a grown man trying to take her into a building she was kicking and screaming. Then all of a sudden she felt someone grab her other hand then let go of it then tackled and hit her attacker. She noticed her "hero" was about her age. The boy then reached out for her hand and she took his offer with caution. They were silent for awhile until she spoke up" why did you save me" Evie said " I mean who would want to save me all I am is ugly." The boy scrunched his eyebrows " you're not ugly. In fact I think you're gorgeous." " really?" The boy chuckled of course she was pretty he thought in fact she was the opposite of ugly. " of course, by the way I'm Jay what's your name?"

" I am Evie" "well Evie," jay said " don't ever think you're not pretty cause you are very pretty" the boy said giving her hug. Evie was surprised at his actions but hugged back. After the hug Jay left. He smiled to herself and walked back home.

Jay smiled at the memory so he did meet her before 16, how could he have forgot? 

"You should keep it Jay" Mal said. Jay sat on Evie's bed and noticed something on floor. It had a date on it that would be when was eleven he picked it up and read it. Jays eyes widened more and more as he read kept reading. It was Evie's. 

"What is it jay? " Mal asked " It's Evie's" Jay said handing the paper to Mal. Mal's mouth dropped as read the last line. She had no idea. It also got her to wonder how much does she not about Evie.
