Evie was in her bed waiting for the return of Jay he was supposed to be here 20 minutes ago. Evie sighed as she looked at her arm. It had millions of scars on it. She was surprised no one asked about it, especially Jay. Looking at her scars again she remembered the first time she cut herself.
Evie was eleven years old cutting some fruits and vegetables for her mother. She wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing being that she had a horrible week, and she cut herself. Evie jumped back and dropped the knife feeling the pain, but then it felt almost better than she was feeling now. She went to a bathroom and cut her arm and stomach. It was painful at first again, but it felt like relief after awhile.
Evie sighed remembering that age it was one of the worst years of her life. This year would probably be the worst year. Her mother made her sell herself, she was getting severely bullied, her own friends betray her, and now she was stuck in this hospital waiting for the arrival of her friend.
Evie missed Jay. She also missed it when her and Mal talked forever. And when Carlos and her made an invention together. She missed when things were simpler, but she missed Jay most of all. It might seem crazy since she just saw him last night, but she really wanted to talk to him. She leaned back in her bed and closed her eyes nothing was going right. Not just the time in the hospital filled with strangers. She meant her life.
A little after Evie heard the door open Jay's face appeared "hey Eves sorry I'm late I got held up" jay said as he walked into her room and sat in the chair next her.
Evie smiled slightly, "it's fine" Evie wanted to say "I'm not fine" and just let all of her emotions out, but she just couldn't seem to be able to say that. Jay could something was in Evie's mind and that she was lying. He could read her like an open book.
"Well umm the doctor said that you could probably get out of the hospital sometime today." Jay stuttered not knowing what else to say.
"Okay, that's great" Evie said looking at her nails. The nails which were now half painted half not.
Jay now could defiantly tell something important was bugging her. Should he mention something?
💙 a half hour later💛
A nurse came and let Evie get out of the hospital about 5 minutes ago. Right now Evie was trying to get up and walk, but her legs were so numb and wobbly. She didn't remember it ever being this hard to walk.
Evie humphed as she fell back in Jay's arms again. They just made it out of the hospital and were on the way to jay's dorm so they could watch a movie with Mal and Carlos.
"You're doing great Evie. Just keep trying"
"I can't" Evie complained .
When did Evie ever get so discouraged about herself. She was always so confident. He had feeling he knew how, but Evie was basically whining. She never ever ever whined.
"Evie I know you can. Just trust yourself"
Evie shook her head "no, I can't."
Jay sighed as he looked at Evie. He gently picked her up bridal style. She felt so light.
"Jay. You don't have to do this" Evie sighed. Sounding like she regretted complaining.
"Eves it's fine. You're getting tired and I don't want you to hurt yourself."
Evie nodded her head in surrender. Jay could tell in Evie's eyes that she was tired and frustraited. Evie put her head on jay's chest and closed her eyes. By the time they got to jay's dorm Evie had fallen asleep.
She looked so peaceful he wanted to see her like that when she was awake and the only way to do that was to confront her about her past. At this point jay realized he HAD to talk to her if he ever wanted HIS regular Evie back.
