Today was their first day of school and everyone decided to repeat eleventh grade to be with Evie. She was currently using crutches for one more week.
Evie was walking into her first class with Jay right next to her. He sat down and noticed Evie wasn't taking a seat "Evie are you ok" Jay asked concerned.
Evie nodded slowly at sat down.
"You sure" Jay asked.
"Yeah it's nothing" Evie said
Jay nodded unsure and class began.
Thirty minutes into class Evie rose her hand and said " may I please go to the bathroom"
The teacher let her go, but before Evie left she gave Jay a reassuring glance that she would be ok she knew he'd be wondering.
Evie left and on her way there she noticed a couple of Chad's friends and avoided them as best as possible, but she felt their heavy stares on her. "Hey Evie" one of them called.
Evie mentally sighed and just ignored them.
"Evie I'm talking to you" the same guy called.
Evie froze this does not sound good Evie thought. She heard footsteps draw closer to her. She flinched each time feet got closer to her.
"Evie" another guy said
Evie bit her lip and said "what"
"Oh look she actually talks" another guys said.
Evie sighed and said "what do you want"
"Oh does the princess have a mouth now" the first guys said.
Evie stayed silent unsure of what to say and looked at the floor.
The first guy lifted her chin up and said "maybe not"
Evie felt a rush of fear run over her and felt like she couldn't comprehend anything.
The third guy raised his hand and suddenly Evie gained some comprehension and put her hands in front of her face, which made her crutches fall to the floor. Evie's eye twitched expecting to get hit, but when she didn't get hit she slowly moved her hands from her face. Noticing her crutches were on the floor she tried to get them but lost her balance and fell.
The group of guys laughed and Evie felt tears well up in her eyes.
"Stupid" one said
"unloved" another said.
Tears slowly trickled down Evie's cheeks.
She felt a hand go on her face as she felt herself shaking. She felt another hit her upside her head and the group of boys left.
Evie sighed and slowly got up and made her to the bathroom.
She looked in the mirror and didn't like what she saw. An ugly mess. She thought. She wiped up her tears and went back to class.
She felt Jay's eyes on her. She wanted to tell him what happened so he could help. I know how to take of this Evie thought and smiled to herself.
