Skylar's POV
Today, I have to take my parents to the airport, so they can go to Hawaii. As soon as I get out of school, I'm taking them to the airport, then I'm going to be alone for a week. It didn't take me long to get to school, and I decided to just take a nap in my class until the bell rings. Someone walked in, but I didn't bother to look at who it is.
After having my head down on the desk for a couple minutes, someone cleared their throat. Finally, I looked up to see Sammy sitting next to me on his phone. When I looked at him, he smiled before looking back at his phone. I was about to lay my head back down, when Sammy said something.
Sammy: You know, you've been asleep for half of the class, but the teacher isn't here. Just thought I should let you know.
Skylar: Well, where is he? I mean we don't even have a substitute in here. Oh well, I'm going back to sleep.
Sammy: You look cold. Do you want my sweatshirt?
I nodded my head, and he handed me his jacket. After I put it on, I laid my head back down and fell back asleep. Suddenly, I could feel someone shaking me awake. When I looked up, Sammy said the bell had rung. I grabbed my stuff and made my way to my next hour. As soon as I had walked into the classroom, my friend walked up to me.
Julie: Hey, who's jacket is that? I know for sure it's not yours. Wait, do you have a boyfriend?
Skylar: No, this is a friends jacket. I got cold last hour, so he let me borrow it. It's nothing serious.
She nodded her head and rolled her eyes, before walking to her seat. She's been trying to get me a boyfriend since we met last year. Julie just doesn't understand people can be happy outside of a relationship. The teacher walked in just as the bell rang and started his lecture. I started doodling on my paper, because I knew everything about this topic.
As I was drawing, Sammy leaned over and put a little flower on my paper. I smiled at him, before continuing. The bell rang, and I got up to go to next hour. When I got there, the teacher called me over and handed me a note. I thanked him before going back to my seat.
Note: I need to talk to you at lunch outside the back doors. ~S
I folded the note and put it into my pocket. Why did he give the note to a teacher? He could have just walked up and told me. The bell rang, and Sammy wasn't in the room. Our teacher walked to the front of the room and started talking.
Teacher: As you can see, a couple of our students aren't here. They are taking a test in the library, and will not be here today. Now today we will be talking about Russia...
I tuned out the teacher and started thinking about what he wanted to talk to me about. We have all of our plans for the weekend, maybe something happened. I guess I'll just have to wait until lunch to know. Since I was anxious for the class to end, it took even longer for the bell to ring. When it finally rang, I quickly made my way to the back of the school.
Sammy was leaned up against the wall waiting for me. When he saw me, he started walking further from the school. I followed him, because I need to know what this is about. Finally, he stopped walking and turned around to face me.
Sammy: I have everything for this weekend. My parents will be gone for a conference for their job, so we don't have to worry about them. You're dropping your parents off at the airport after school, right?
Skylar: Yes, but I'm not doing anything until after school Friday, because I have assignments to turn in tomorrow. But that's amazing that you have everything. How about I bring my stuff with me to school, then we go straight to your house afterwards?
Sammy: Sounds great. Now I have to go.
He kissed my cheek, before walking into the school. Did Sammy just kiss my cheek? That's kind of shocking. I walked back into the school and sat with my friends, still thinking about what happened outside, but my friends didn't seem to notice.
Sammy's POV
Just as I was about to walk back into the school, I kissed Skylar's cheek. I don't know what I was thinking, but it played off pretty smoothly. It's not like it meant anything, because I don't like Skylar like that. Do I? I mean I barely even know her now. This is going to be an interesting weekend.
