The last few days of school rolled around faster then I had realized. I had seen Danny around school a few times, but he switched back out of my science class so it wasn't very often.

Sammy, on the other hand, found a way to make himself seen in every way possible. And the closer and closer school got to ending, the more and more he tried to get me to talk to him.

I was sitting in class minding my own business, when Sammy walked into class late with roses and chocolates. "So, I'm a little late for Valentine's Day, but please Skylar go on one last date with me."

Everyone in the class gasped and looked to me in hope. "Sammy, I don't know. After everything that happened I still don't know if I can trust you," I responded.

He sighed and nodded his head. "But can't you at least try?"

I crossed my arms and stared at him with a raised eyebrow. Sammy gave me a big grin, still waiting for an answer. "Fine. One date. That's all you get."

He ran up to me and hugged me, before running out of the class. "Sammy, where are you going? You are in this class," our teacher yelled to him.

"I have a good enough grade in this class to miss a day. I have a date to get ready. I'll pick you up at 7. Dress nice," he winked at me before taking off again. I rolled my eyes and got back to my notes.

School ended too soon and I groaned realizing I had to go home and get dressed for my date. After picking out a dress, I walked into my bathroom to get ready.

By the time I was dressed and had my makeup done, it was already 6:45. I walked downstairs to wait for Sammy and saw a note from my parents. "Going out for the night. Trying to fix the marriage. See you when we get home."

I rolled my eyes and set it down just as the doorbell rang. When I opened it, Sammy stood there in a tuxedo with an extremely nervous look on his face. "Hey, you know how to clean up nicely," I joked.

He laughed lightly, before pulling me slowly towards his car. "Come on, we have somewhere to be," he almost whispered. I nodded my head and climbed into the car.

It didn't take us long to get to the destination and when we did, I stood there with my jaw basically at my feet. "Close your mouth, you're gonna catch flies and not have any room for the food I made." I laughed lightly, before taking his outstretched hand.

"Wow, Sammy, this is amazing," I breathed.

He smiled shyly at me, then pulled out my chair for me to sit. At first I just sat there staring at all of the gorgeous decorations and the amazing view of the lake.

He cleared his head to shake me out of my thoughts, and I realized someone had put food in front of us and there was a violinist playing. "Did you really do all of this for me?" Sammy nodded his head and smiled.

"I did. Because I wanted you to see how genuinely into I am and while it may have started out as a bet," he began, "it hasn't been that way since that first day.

"And I know this sounds dumb and cheesy, but I really like you. You've literally made me a better person, and I'm not saying this to make you want me. I'm saying this cause I mean it," he stated.

I smiled at him, while tears brimmed my eyes. "Nobody has ever said anything so sweet to me before. I'm glad you genuinely like me, because I feel the same about you. That's why I took it so hard," I managed to get out.

He got up and walked over to me, pulling me out of my seat and into his arms. "Skylar, I promise I'll never do anything to intentionally hurt you again."

I stepped back and smiled up at him. "We're here on a date, let's not get me crying," I joked. He laughed too, before pulled me over to a pile of blankets and pillows.

"I remember how much you like looking at the stars, so I thought we could end like that." I smiled and walked over to lay down next to him.

The rest of the night was spent talking and cuddling, before he eventually drove me home. When we reached my doorstep, we both stood there awkwardly waiting for something to happen.

"May I?"

I nodded my head at him, before he kissed me passionately, like the first time we had. We kissed a few more times, then Sammy walked to his car and I walked inside. The perfect way to end a night and high school.
