Skylar's POV
I was listening and singing along to my music as we left town. Sammy said that we'd be staying at a hotel, since it's so far away. Before I knew it, we were out of town and headed somewhere else. I wasn't very worried about him kidnapping me, because I can defend myself. Sammy kept looking at me from the corner of his eye, but I just ignored it and looked out the window. Since it would be a long trip, I grabbed a pillow and blanket, before trying to take a nap.
He laughed, before looking at me and back on the road. I decided to ignore him and try to sleep. The car was really uncomfortable, so I gave up on sleeping and grabbed some food. Sammy looked at me, before grabbed a chip out of my hand. I tried hitting his hand, but it was too quick for me. After a couple more minutes, I put the chips away and reclined in my seat. Before long, I felt Sammy's hand find its way to my thigh.
Skylar: What are you doing?
Sammy: Driving. Is something wrong?
Skylar: Nope. Not at all.
He smiled at me and turned back to the road. One of my favorite songs came on, so I started singing at the top of my lungs. Sammy stopped the car, so I looked around and saw we were on the side of the road. I turned to look at him and saw him looking at me. He had taken his hand off of my thigh, and I was worried something was wrong. Since the music was super loud, I turned it down and just sat there.
Sammy: Are you done singing super loudly?
Skylar: You pulled us over for that? I thought we had broken down or something! You're so lame.
I rolled my eyes at him and turned the music back up. Sammy pulled back onto the road, and I started singing again. Just a little quieter this time. After driving for an hour, Sammy stopped to get gas. As soon as he stopped the car, I took off into the gas station. Since we had forgotten drinks when we went to the grocery store, I started looking through the options.
Sammy's POV
I stopped to get gas, so we'd make it to the next town. When I stopped the car, Skylar got out and stretched. She made her way into the store, while I sat outside and pumped gas. Since the windows didn't have posters, I was able to watch Skylar look for drinks. I was half way done, when she walked back to get in the car. She set the drinks in the car, before coming and standing by me.
We stood there, hugging each other and waiting for the gas to finished. It wasn't much longer that the gas was pumping, so I kissed her and she went to get into the car. I took the gas pump out and paid for the gas, before getting back into the car. Skylar grabbed my hand and held my hand, while we started driving down the highway again. The music was blaring, I was beside a pretty girl, and we were about to go have a lot of fun. What could be better.
Halfway through the trip, Skylar fell asleep. Twenty minutes before we were to arrive, traffic was totally stopped. I pulled out my phone and looked at the news, while she started groaning. The news hadn't said anything about traffic yet, so I couldn't figure out why we were stopped. She sat up, before stretching her arms and looking around. Skylar started talking, and her voice was still raspy from falling asleep.
Skylar: Why are we stopped? Did something happen?
Sammy: Wish I could tell you, but I don't know. The news doesn't say anything about it, so I guess we're stuck here until traffic starts moving.
She groaned, before leaning back in her seat and singing. I grabbed her hand again and started playing with her fingers. Traffic started moving again, so I started my car and drove down the highway. It was still slow, but we finally made our way into the little town. Before long, I had pulled into the little field where I normally hang out. She got out of the car and started walking around. I leaned up against my car and just watched her.
Sammy: Do you like it?
Skylar: This place is beautiful. How'd you find out about it?
Sammy: That's a secret. Come on, let's unpack the car. We're sleeping in a tent tonight, and you have to help me set it up.
