Sammy and I packed the rest of our things into the back of my SUV, before squeezing the back door shut. He looked at me with a triumphant look, making my already big smile grow a little.

I gave him a quick kiss, before running inside to find my parents. After my date with Sammy, they slowed down on the work and took the time to spend with me and I actually spent time with them.

Even though it was almost too late, we fixed our relationship, so I didn't go to college with a broken relationship. "Mom! Dad! Where are you guys? Sammy and I are leaving soon," I shouted, standing in the doorway.

They ran down the stairs, and almost tackled me in the doorway. "Sorry, doll, didn't want to miss the opportunity to take as many pictures as I can," my mom remarked.

I rolled my eyes and smiled, before walked back out to Sammy. Before I had even stopped walking, my mom had started taking a million pictures.

"Oh these will be so cute when you guys finally get married," she commented to my dad.

"Mommmm," I groaned.

Sammy laughed at me, before turning and smiling at my parents for another picture. I got on my tippy toes to kiss his cheek, when I heard the click of the camera.

"I can't believe my little girl is going to college. It seems like just yesterday she was in diapers running around the house," my dad said, before wiping a tear from his eye.

"Guys, I hate to break this up, but we really have to be on the road." I walked over to my parents and hugged them tight while Sammy took some pictures.

We promise to send them to my mom, before waving and getting in the car. Sammy started the car and drove off, as I waved goodbye to my parents and my childhood home.

It didn't take us long to reach the interstate and when we did, I reclined my seat and tried to sleep. Just as I was about to fall asleep, Sammy turned the music up as loud as he could.

"Dude, I'm trying to sleep," I groaned.

"Dude, I'm trying to stay awake and you have to stay awake for me to do that," he mocked. I rolled my eyes and sat up a little looking down the road.

"How long is this trip?"

"Only 8 hours. At the four hour mark, we're switching though. I don't want to drive the whole way."

I nodded my head, before staring out the window at the passing houses and town. My town.

Turning away from it, I looked at Sammy and smirked. "My parents said they'd send my bed and furniture once we had found an apartment. Which also means we gotta find jobs."

He nodded his head at me, with a slight roll of the eye. "Don't worry, babe, we can do this."

"I know. I'm glad we can do this. This is going to be the best experience of our lives." He wiggled his eyebrows at me, before turning back to the road.

The rest of the trip went smoothly, and Sammy didn't make me trade seats with him. Once we had reached our stop, we stopped by my college to get my schedule and find where all of my classes were.

As soon as we made it back to the hotel room, I pulled out my laptop and started looking at apartments for rent, while Sammy looked for jobs in the area.

It took forever, but Sammy finally found something to apply for, while I stuck with a simple fast food place for the time being.

We had ourselves set up in the hotel room, before we cuddled up next to each other and just laid there.

"Well, I guess we should get some sleep, because we have a long day of apartment hunting tomorrow," I mumbled into Sammy's chest.

He groaned slightly in response, and I could tell he was already falling asleep. The second I closed my eyes, I felt myself drifting to sleep. I had finally made it.
